Prayer for Our American Heroes and Nation

FATHER, Please, let me begin this prayer with my own words of confession. Last week I had a time of looking too intently at the darkness surrounding us…in this world…throughout our government…within our nation…effecting our soldiers…infiltrating our families…and I was, quite honestly, discouraged. But LORD, today, I repent of this, and choose to ARISE, for the LIGHT OF CHRIST IS OVER ME…OVER US who are in prayer here each day…YOU, LORD JESUS, are THE LIGHT OF THIS WORLD, THE LIGHT IN THE DARKNESS that overshadows our concerns, and in THEE WE TRUST. WE PUT OUR FACE LIKE FLINT and LOOK UPON YOU IN FAITH and HOPE…Trusting in YOU, for NOTHING is IMPOSSIBLE with GOD. AMEN.

In humility, yet with the boldness YOU have given invitation to receive, with face uncovered, heart unveiled, soul redeemed, mind transformed, we come before You today in full assurance of YOUR GLORY and YOUR STRENGTH there in, asking for YOUR MERCY and GRACE to shine so brightly over and round our beloved heroes so as to blind any and all foes that come in their way. Dissipate with YOUR LIGHT all discouragements that may be effecting them as well as us.

We pray that YOUR GLORY will shine over this country once again provoking the hearts of all Americans to raise their voices and sing in PRAYER: GOD BLESS AMERICA. We pray that the vision YOU had for the United States will be restored to our national leaders. We ask that the church will pray mightily for our nation through the HOLY SPIRIT-- and not give up on America. Yes, we all know that there are many things wrong with the USA, but if all we do is judge and find fault, then we have lost the war already.

We pray for YOUR people Israel who are surrounded by enemies on all sides, that they will lift their eyes and look upon the GLORY THAT IS REVEALED IN THE FACE of THE MESSIAH and not cower away in fear and disbelief. OH LORD, Your house is a "house of prayer for all nations”, so in keeping with YOUR great command to bless and pray for our enemies, we stand in prayer for the nations that revel in their darkness, that they would turn to the GLORIOUS LIGHT OF SALVATION. Amen. OH LORD…TO YOU BE THE GLORY FOREVER AND EVER …AMEN

Ever since the first command “Let there be Light” - the course of SALVATION was put in effect for us...for all creation. Amen. THE LIGHT that is THE GLORY of our GOD is our focal point in all areas of darkness...We pray, LORD, as we look to YOU intently and steadily. Please, join me today. Thank you. With Love, Jean

IN THE COLDEST and darkest days of the American Revolution, General George Washington raised his prayers for the survival of his beleaguered Army and of the new Nation. The Lord answered those prayers, upheld his Army through a punishing nadir to everlasting Glory, and bestowed His manifold benefits upon the new Nation.

FROM THE BRAVE, albeit weary, ill-equipped, and untrained volunteers who marched into Valley Forge on 19 December 1777 arose, with the help of some gallant friends from across the waves, the cohesive fighting force that became the United States Army, global defender of Freedom and scourge of Tyrants.

AS GENERAL WASHINGTON lifted his prayers on high in that bleak Winter, let our prayers now rise like a fountain for our Heroes in the American Armed Forces who seek to secure the benefits of Freedom on behalf of a people hungry for them. Father, look on our prayers for them with favor, guide their steps in righteousness and envelop them in the shelter of Your Healing Wings. Bless and uphold them in the performance of their Mission. Through Jesus Christ, Your Son, with the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever, Amen.

HEAVENLY FATHER, Lord of the Nations, unto Your Divine Mercy we commend the souls of these valiant men and women who have fallen in the service of our Beloved Nation and in defense of the Freedoms we hold dear.
