WASHINGTON — Addressing an interdenominational audience of 2,500 government leaders from around the world Thursday night, Sen. Mike Lee offered a candid recollection of his late father, former Solicitor General Rex E. Lee.

"......, but around our house he was known as a kind and loving husband to my mother and father to seven children," the younger Lee said of his father,...

"He was a gifted orator, but used his persuasive skills at home to teach his children to love each other and love the Lord," he said.

"Prayer is free," Lee, a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, told the group that convened for a dinner sponsored by the organizers of the National Prayer Breakfast, held earlier that day.

"It requires no electricity, advanced technology, or advanced education. But prayer doesn’t happen by chance. It requires us to assert ourselves by approaching our Heavenly Father in faith and humility," he said.

Lee said the timing seemed appropriate: "I think this is an important topic. I think prayer has never been more important than it is right now, with people throughout our country and the world facing a lot of difficult challenges."

Lee said .....prayer is intended to help people conform their desires to God’s will.

"When we pray, we’re speaking to an omniscient, omnipotent being. We’re not trying to change God, we’re trying to change ourselves," he said.

"I have experienced this heavenly help and strength, not simply through my own prayers, but often through your prayers and the prayers of others who pray for liberty and peace — and for that I am most thankful," he said in his remarks.

Lee said he has been inspired by the prayers of U.S. Senate Chaplain Barry C. Black, Jr.,

“”When we pray, we’re speaking to an omniscient, omnipotent being. “

I will flesh out what he meant for you Restornu...

“As mormons, when we pray, we’re speaking to one of the mormonic gods - none of who are omniscient, omnipotent beings, because you can’t have more than one of those - heck, we have at least 4 of those demi-gods just for the earth.”

Well, Restornu, it is widely known that the LDS group believes in *at least* 4 separate earth gods alone.

This does not even count the LDS gods on other worlds or the millions of *future gods in utero*.

Do you personally believe there are more than 4 earth gods in the LDS religion??

Or which of the following lds gods are you denying?

Heavenly Father
Heavenly Mother (could be more than one)
Created Jesus
Holy Spirit

Which is not one of your gods?

Excuse me Restornu, but I posted official doctrines.

Which of the 4 Mormonic Earth Gods do you deny believing in today?

There is no doctrine of 4 there may be opinions but that is not an official doctrine.

In all logic if there is a Father their has to be Mother eve Jesus had a mother.

But the Godhead still is The Father, Only begotten Son of the Father Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost.

We humbly pray to the Heavenly Father and invite the Holy Spirit to be with us, in the Name of Jesus Christ
