Archbishop José Gomez of Los Angeles read aloud the letters of children of illegal aliens that were addressed to Pope Francis and collected by a coalition of groups seeking rights for illegal immigrants. Gomez said he hoped the letters would challenge the consciences of Americans.
As a Catholic News Agency report in the National Catholic Register indicated on January 17th, Gomez discussed what the report said were heartfelt letters to Pope Francis seeking his help and his prayers for their parents who have been deported or arrested.
They know that Pope Francis himself is the son of an immigrant. They know that he has the heart to understand what they are going through, Gomez said. He added that reading the childrens letters makes my heart ache.
They are so beautiful and so sad, he told the civic group Town Hall Los Angeles.
A letter from Karla, a 15-year old girl born in Los Angeles, told Pope Francis she has a very religious family. Both her parents and her two older siblings are immigrants from Mexico.
My mom is slowly going blind, and my dad has a heart problem. My sister is in a wheelchair, and she needs medical help, but they cant get the medical help they need because they dont have their legal documents, she said.
I know there are more people with the same or even worse situation. Some kids even younger than me have been separated from their parents and family, Karla added. I ask you to keep me and my family in your prayers.(continued)

The archbishop should be ashamed of himself.
Democrats wrote a law to replace the American voter.
However, if there is one man who can take the most credit for the 1965 act, it is John F. Kennedy. Kennedy seems to have inherited the resentment his father Joseph felt as an outsider in Bostons WASP aristocracy. He voted against the McCarran-Walter Act of 1952, and supported various refugee acts throughout the 1950s. In 1958 he wrote a book, A Nation of Immigrants, which attacked the quota system as illogical and without purpose, and the book served as Kennedys blueprint for immigration reform after he became president in 1960. In the summer of 1963, Kennedy sent Congress a proposal calling for the elimination of the national origins quota system. He wanted immigrants admitted on the basis of family reunification and needed skills, without regard to national origin. After his assassination in November, his brother Robert took up the cause of immigration reform, calling it JFKs legacy. In the forward to a revised edition of A Nation of Immigrants, issued in 1964 to gain support for the new law, he wrote, I know of no cause which President Kennedy championed more warmly than the improvement of our immigration policies. Sold as a memorial to JFK, there was very little opposition to what became known as the Immigration Act of 1965.
He would be much more righteous if he read some letters from the children of people killed by drunk illegals or maybe from the parents of children killed by them.
Go stick your melon in the crapper and flush, Gomez. Maybe it will suck some of that fluff outta' your brain. Maybe.
In my mind, the most moving part of the New Testament is when Jesus commands his people to petition Cesar to confiscate everyone’s wealth, enrich the governing class and hand out crumbs to those who would support Cesar.
What’s that? You say you don’t remember that part of the bible? Well you must not be reading the same book as the Archbishop of LA; perhaps if you spoke Latin....
Time for conservatives to man the phones, email, and faxes.
I for one will not support any politician who supports amnesty - at the local, state, and federal level.
I reject the proponents of amnesty's premise. Children of illegal aliens need to go back home with their parents, no exceptions. Implement E-verify. Crack down on states and local governments who have Sanctuary policies. Ban illegals from all benefits and place a 50% tax on all transfers to their home countries. Have SCOTUS resolve the anchor baby status once and for all.
Illegals will self-deport. Those that don't self-deport will get deported. Then you build what President Polk should have built after winning the Mexican War. A huge, wrought-iron, double-sided fence with towers every mile staffed with sharpshooters.
I don't care that illegals have been in this country and are hard-workers, didn't commit crimes, etc. Illegal is illegal, and I have no compassion for those who want to turn the U.S. into a 3rd world paradise.
About 70% of immigrants, regardless of origin, vote pro-abortion.
I pointed this out on Gomez’s Facebook page, and was banned. I.e., the fields for me to make comments disappeared.
Gomez knows exactly what he is doing: campaigning to increase the pro-abortion voting bloc.
Any letters from the US citizens who have been raped and murdered by illegals?
And letters from the bankrupt cities and countries due to illegals?
Any letters from the US students who now get a 3rd rate eduction or or “quotaed” out of a college slot?
I haven’t his book, but I read an article on a Catholic website that quoted several passages that were shockingly bigoted against Anglos.
I pointed out on Gomez’s website that immigrants (from all countries) vote about 70% pro-abortion. I was banned. I.e., the fields for making comments disappeared.
By this time, I’m convinced Gomez knows exactly what he is doing. He wants more Mexicans here, and the survival of the evil, Anglo, Protestant, ice-people-founded U.S. be damned.
[8] He became a U.S. citizen in 1995.[3]
I don’t think he is brain dead at all.

Furthermore, with the state the country is in, I strongly question whether we need any new immigrants at all, including legal ones. Especially when they are blowhard clerics with a liberal axe to grind against America.
PFL
Would you change your mind if Archbishop Gomez encouraged them to become legal citizens as he did?
Yup, we can’t fix the nation under a raging torrent.
They (being the illegals) have already broken the law to get here, indicating an absolute contempt for the legal way.
The last thing we need is more democrat-voting criminals.
Then why is he gung-ho for illegal immigration and amnesty?
