28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
To me, among the most beautiful verses ever written, full of promise, promise that we can believe, promise that I try to live, it freed me a long time ago of the burden of sin, a heavy load indeed and it is all truly free, Jesus already paid the price.
Testify, if you will. What do those verses mean to you in your life?
A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory.

The yoke is used to train younger oxen by connecting them to an experienced ox.
He wants us to be like Him, and is offering gentle training for those that are weary and burdened trying to do it on their own.
No one knows the peace and assurance until they understand those verses.
How does “my burden is light” square with “take up your cross, and follow me”? Anyone who cares to answer...
Give God all your cares, worries, and let Him take care of it. Live by His commands and you will not face the troubles of this world like so many others do because you are not getting in trouble.
For years I tried to carry the load of the law (Catholic) plus my sin. One day I met Jesus and He took the load off my shoulders! Oh what grace that was poured that day!
Psalm 121
I lift up my eyes to the hills.
From where does my help come?
2 My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth.
3 He will not let your foot be moved;
he who keeps you will not slumber.
4 Behold, he who keeps Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The Lord is your keeper;
the Lord is your shade on your right hand.
6 The sun shall not strike you by day,
nor the moon by night.
7 The Lord will keep you from all evil;
he will keep your life.
8 The Lord will keep
your going out and your coming in
from this time forth and forevermore.
Beautiful.
Yup, Amen!
I love it. It’s one I’ve rarely heard quoted or spoken on. Kind of like a gem buried in the Psalms.
:)
My all time favorite scripture...Because I know first hand that it’s true...
