I think it does matter. Because if they were born that way, then it’s saying that God made them that way.
It’s easier for them to make their argument if they say they were born that way, or that it’s in their genes.
But even if true, that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be fixed. If a child is born with a split lip, you try to fix it. If a child is born with a physical defect, you fix it if you can. And if a child starts out life with wild behavior, you try to deal with that.
Some tribulations God gives us have to be accepted. Others are meant to be dealt with and corrected or defeated.
