Some may scoff at this with its Catholic doctrines and all. But the way I see it; this is not much different than a non Christian having a death bed conversion with a pastor a minister having him recite the believers prayer and accepting Jesus into his heart.

Reminds me of an old Mark Twain joke.
A ship is the midst of a storm and it looks bad for all aboard.
One of the sailors cries out to the Captain: “Captain, DO SOMETHING! PRAY FOR US!
The Captain: I ain’t been in a church in thirty years! I don’t know how to pray!”
Sailor: “Captain, THEN DO SOMETHING RELIGIOUS!”
So the Captain took up a collection.

When noted atheist Voltaire was dying he called for a priest. The man who responded was excited to be converting such an influential man. During his confession Voltaire was asked by the priest if he rejected Satan and all of his works.
Voltaire paused a moment and then said to the priest, “Father, I don’t think this is a good time to make enemies in any camp”

Thanks for posting. I have not been to church in 20 years. My niece just moved in with my wife and I. We are all going to church this weekend. Strange indeed how things work..

Sure they'll scoff. They do it all the time when it's a Protestant.
When it's a Catholic, they laud it.
Double standards are also known as *hypocrisy*.

It sometimes takes setting a good example as a member of family to do just that.

Wonderful deathbed conversion for Ralph and a truly inspiring message that in the end he had the faith of a child; innocent and all-loving. Thanks for posting.

Dear Lord, Your ways are above our ways as the heavens are above the earth, and so are your thoughts above our thoughts. In your great mercy, please grant Ralph a place of blessedness, a place of verdure, a place of repose. May he be cleansed quickly of every attachment to sin, and included in Your gracious friendship. Amen.
