For days now, the nation has been subjected to hearing gay activists, atheists, hypersensitive liberals, and First Amendment rights-defenders engaging in biblical eisegesis. The histrionics began when Duck Dynasty patriarch Phil Robertson was quoted in a GQ interview where, in defense of his biblically based anti-homosexual-lifestyle views, he loosely cited 1 Corinthians 6:9-10:
Don't be deceived. Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlers -- they won't inherit the kingdom of God. Don't deceive yourself. It's not right.
Unabashed in his enthusiasm about the saving power of Jesus Christ and his denunciation of the sinful life he openly admits he was delivered from,

Georgia sheriff cuts ties with A&E over Phil Robertson of ‘Duck Dynasty’ flap

Make sure that people know that we’re not “following Phil” — but that Phil is following exactly what we are following, which is what God says ...
God says in Romans 1 ...
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.
17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,
19 because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them.
20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse,
21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.
22 Professing to be wise, they became fools,
23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible manand birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.
24 Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves,
25 who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
26 For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature.
27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting;
29 being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers,
30 backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
31 undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful;
32 who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.
THAT would certainly be dynamite to LGBT-types ... :-) ...
Im sure they are foaming at the mouth at this part ...

I find this hard to believe.
This is faux outrage coming from a bunch of people who are probably working on a new play The Anus Monologues right now.

That, sir, is razor slashing wit! I salute you.
Reminds me of the time a street preacher came to our local campus with a megaphone and found himself confronted with a heckler. The heckler kept insisting that it wasn’t a fair fight since the preacher had control of the megaphone.
“Alright,” said the preacher. “I’ll give you the megaphone for one minute. You can say to the crowd whatever you want. Here. You’ll have 60 seconds and you can say whatever you want.”
So the somewhat agitated heckler grabbed the megaphone and yelled into it with an accusatory tone, “WHAT THIS MAN WANTS YOU TO BELIEVE IS THAT THE ONLY WAY TO GET TO HEAVEN IS THROUGH JESUS CHRIST.”
Then he handed the megaphone back to the preacher.
“Thank you,” said the preacher calmly. “Indeed I do.”
God has a perfect sense of humor (and marketing).
There’s another message that we should make sure is being advanced, too. That message is that with the LGBT-types - they are a WALKING ADVERTISEMENT that God doesn’t wait until “Judgement a Day” to judge some sin.
In reference to what someone else said about homosexuality being another sin - just like all the sins listed in the Bible ... Ill have to point out that its QUITE UNIQUE in comparison to other sins. I said the following in another posting elsewhere ...
The unique thing about what God said in Romans 1 is that this particular sin is actually a judgement from God in that He has them debasing themselves in such a way. THIS (what the LGBTs promote) is actually Gods judgement upon them in that they are to do these things to themselves. They, therefore, receive gods judgement in the here and now for clearly rejecting what god has made clear to the,.
SO ... while these are all sins - fornication, adultery, thieving, drunkenness, slandering, swindling - and will not be allowed into Heaven ... none of these are, in and of themselves - a condition which God imposes upon people for their rejection of what God has made clear to them,
On the other hand the LGBT lifestyle is a specific condition and judgement of God Himself - upon these people,
AND THEREFORE, God has put upon them the absolute worst of the worst sin possible in a human being - in order to thoroughly DEBASE them to the ultimate extent in THIS LIFE, in the HERE AND NOW and not upon Judgement Day.
LGBT-people are a walking advertisement of God thoroughly debasing someone to the maximum extent possible, in a human being. They are walking around with a neon flashing sign saying Look at me! God has not even waited until Judgement Day to judge me!
I am not a theologian, nor a word-for-word student of the Bible, but I back Phil up wholeheartedly for his unabashed statements of his true beliefs. A&E knew who he was when they started the show, and he did not approach them about the concept, they aggressively pursued him so I have no sympathy whatsoever when they decided to kowtow to the bloody homosexual kkk and “suspend indefinitely” the bloke because it apparently offended some of their “upper class” executives (*cough* Sandra *cough*) and the gay lobby as well.
And Cracker Barrel has backed off its knee-jerk actions and apologized. I sent them a personal note talking about the difference between catering to "down-home, moral, Christian folks" and homosexual activists trying to mold people in their perverted image. Hinted that it was not a good moral or business move, all the while staying polite.
Probably only a drop in a big bucket, but until told otherwise, I will take full credit for Cracker Barrel seeing the light...
I have had discussions with liberals in my church community back east over the weekend... these so called spiritual giants are resorting to name calling and all sorts of GLADD bullying tactics.
After a few dark weeks, I can really feel the power of the Lord and His Word.... wonderful article!
Cool. I've enjoyed watching God work and she sees His hand in this, too.
He took those His rebellious believe to be lesser than and beneath them and used them to reveal these critics own sins and hypocrisy to them and to everyone else, all the while showing His love, teachings, patience and forgiveness.
Quite a show! Thank you, Holy Spirit, for the grace of belief!
Firing Phil Robertson for discussing his Christian faith...including all the comments in question...is like firing an airline pilot for achieving a 100% safety and on-time takeoff/arrival record, or firing an NFL quarterback for leading his team to win the Superbowl.
Phil Robertson's faith (and his family's faith) has been the center of interest for a huge portion of the DD audience. Viewers may walk to the “fridge” for a beer while the boys are doing something stupid for the audience, but every viewer is sitting glued to the set when the show ends and the Robertson family gathers around the dinner table for the prayer we all know and expect to hear.
The Christian faith component of the show has been the key to DD’s success since “day 1,” and everyone in the Robertson family knows it. That family...mocked though they may be...knows and understands their audience far better than do the ridiculous hypocrites who run A&E.
