parts of it may yet be Catholic, true, but much of the higher administration are very Anti-Catholic in deed and, apparently also therefore, in thought.... in my humble opinion

(perhaps if they want to be Catholic they will retract the high honorific they conferred on You Know Who who sponsored the baby-killing bill? Or, they could appoint persons who are respectful, at least, of Catholic Biblical teachings to the Board... and not appoint abortion-promoting left wing Chicago Alinskyite political hacks to the governing Board ... who then only leave or get asked to leave when some concerned Catholics discover and disclose the violations...)

I am NOT going to spend the evening criticizing ND. I made a mistake posting to this thread by mis-reading the article in the first place, had I read Mormon instead of Muslim I would have respectfully kept my silence. So, you do not have a problem like that. BUT if you ask me about ND, I can only say that it does NOT appear a reliably Catholic or Christian or Biblically-mindful college anymore. My opinion. It is worth only what you paid for it, of course. I will also disclose that I withdrew my plan to take a PhD in Theology at Notre Dame due to this issue (or perceived issue). Not sure what bearing that may have, other than it shows I was prepared to move and spend several years of my life in the hands of Notre Dame, so I certainly did not approach this subject with any hostility. And, I hold degrees from two other Catholic universities, having spent some 7 years on those campuses...)
So, go in peace and rest assured I am not going to post anti type stuff here tonight. BUT IF YOU HAVE ANY INFLUENCE at the university perhaps you can help it get back onto a better path? Blessings,

I have little influence, but know from firsthand experience that there are still many good Catholics there. My two sons graduated in the past decade. Profs are still very clearly religious. We can disagree about how the administration goes about their mission, but it is still clearly a Catholic place.

I just get tired of many on this site who pile on without knowing anything other than they conferred a degree on Obama which the alumni clearly found disagreeable.

Your decision was personal and I can imagine that many would find certain people in the theology department disagreeable. I'm sorry that happened to you. I've just got an every man! every day perspective. That one for my fellow alums, sons and me is still positive...aside from the Obama error.
