Countries write immigration laws to benefit the country not the immigrant.

A recent PRRI survey shows that now a majority (56 percent) of white evangelical Protestants support a path to citizenship for immigrants currently living in the United States illegally, provided they meet certain requirements.

The prime requirement should be that they came here legally. I'll support that myself, strongly.

They may be “thousands of Catholics,” but I’ll bet they are surely also thousands of illegal aliens and their supporters!

What do the Irish have to do with anything? For the sake of argument, let’s say the Irish all came here illegally, collected welfare, stole identities, refused to assimilate, and committed crimes. Isn’t that all the more reason to put a stop to such things now?

Obviously, you haven’t checked into the history.
“Irish need not apply.”
“Catholics need not apply.”
“Italians need not apply.”
And so the story goes on and on and on.
