Why don’t they get Jesse Jackson on that reality show.
In reality he has had at least one illegitimate baby we know of , his son is in jail and the other runs a Budweiser dealership.
I think the “preaching” profession has included people like this for a long long time. The big thing these shows point out, because the people on them are real and do have verifiable histories, is that the Jimmy Swaggarts and the Jim Bakers aren’t really that rare, that indeed there are a lot of “preachers” in it for the cash and the groupies. Rather than blaming the TV network for showing them blame the congregations for supporting them. These guys can’t exist without the constant influx of cash from suckers.
1) I drink a beer once in a while (though not enough to get drunk).
2) I don’t like smoking cigarettes (never have) and may be sin for some to do so (this would be a conscience issue not an outright sin as listed in the Bible).
3). About 6-10,000 Years.
By Grace you have been saved through faith, and this not of yourselves, it is a Gift of God!
God Bless!
The TV network sought these kinds of people out on purpose, it was planned to be like this.
But they existed BEFORE the networks sought them out. Blaming the network is closing the barn door too late. If you don’t want people to know people like this hide behind the cross the smart solution is to NOT LET THEM, not to complain some network is giving them air time.
The proper response to this is to give them both barrels of their own medicine. Let it slip out to Muslim forums outside of the US that TLC is airing the following:
“The Muslim Sisterhood,” a supposed Muslim reality show, debuted this past January on TLC network. It was advertised as “a candid look into the lives” of five Muslim wives who “are your typical Muslim ladies,” said TLC. Indeed, these Muslim wives were very much in touch with their sexuality, as they explored such topics as pornography and masturbation. They also “kept it real” when talking about getting drunk and wearing naughty outfits in public, with one of the wives telling her fellow “burka babes” about her crack smoking.”
Of course, outside the US nobody sees TLC, so it might elicit the same response as the Mohammed cartoons.
Yes, it would be hilarious to see the “Muslim rage guy” carrying a sign that said “DEATH TO TLC”.
I guess you do not understand the complaint.
If these people did not exist the network would have invented them. The network is run by anti-Christian bigots.
I understand the complaint fine, what you’re failing to understand is that Christianity need to do a better job of policing itself.
The fact of the matter is the network don’t HAVE to invent them. Because they exist. Your complaint only has validity if these people WERE invented. But they aren’t so the complaint is foolish.
your complaint should be that these guys:
https://www.google.com/search?q=bishop+ron+gibson&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a
keep having followers. Until the networks actually do invent these types of people the problem is with the Christian community, not the TV networks.
What a joke.
These people have always existed and will always exist until the end of time.
Could anyone seeing any Studio/channel ‘green lighting’ a show like ‘Hollywood Atheists’ or ‘San Francisco Political LIARS”? How about ‘Dangerous Muslim Fathers (Brothers, Cousins, Uncles and Family) of the World”?
Christians are easy to mock, just hold up a stereotype and laugh at it!
It’s not a joke, it’s sad and pathetic that Christians not only accept these scumbags but are the vital ingredient in allowing them to exist. If you accept them then you’re the joke, allowing filth and idiots to change the face your faith presents to the world.
Accept them?
The same way I accept athiests and other deviants
I don’t
You seem to have accepted them pretty well. You even think it’s wrong to put these charlatans in TV where they will be exposed and maybe finally lose support. Heck that’s past accept, you DEFEND them.
You are insane
Not at all. If somebody is insane it’s you. Notice how first came onto this thread insisting it was all lies, these guys weren’t real:

I guess you never heard of acting. You think everything on TV is real?
And then in just a few short posts you’ve not only admitted these guys are real, but there’s a long history of them:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/religion/3084276/posts?page=29#29
These people have always existed and will always exist until the end of time.
And yet somehow you insist the network is evil for exposing people you now ADMIT are frauds. That is you defending them. Sorry but the facts are in, you are defending scumbags, but you’ll never admit it. You lost, bye.
I said it was possibly all lies.
A lot of “reality shows” are full-out frauds
I said don’t believe everything you see on TV, ever heard of actors?
That was not specific to this program.
I doubt most of these shows are even real
I agree. I used to think these reality shows were real but I’ve heard enough to conclude they’re all fake. Cheaper to make than Soap Operas like General Hospital.
I kinda hope Sarah Palin’s reality show was real tho.
It’s not called Hellywood for nothing! ;o)
I have NO desire to watch that crap.
