ST. PAUL, Minn. (KMSP) -
Archbishop John Nienstedt has ordered an outside review of all clergy files, while acknowledging "some serious mistakes" over the last decade in how the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis handled allegations of clergy sexual abuse.
Nienstedt's comments and action plan were published Thursday in a column for The Catholic Spirit, titled, "My pledge to restore trust."

Now he's going to grant a review by an as yet unnamed "outside firm". Will this be an unbiased review or someone hand-picked to tell the public, "Nothing to see here. Just move along"? Will support groups for victims of abuse get to see these files?
Doesn't this sound just like the political Left? When they are caught in a scandal they first stonewall and eventually release any evidence demanded, but only in tiny bits to lessen the impact.
So much for transparency.
Who are we to judge?
Uh, the best “independent” review would be for the district attorney to take a look at them. Anyone else is just going to say, “nothing to see here folks, move along”.
