So have I. I even think several serious contenders for AntiChrist have come and gone, having been defeated. Now we have a woman at the Fed, a woman at IMF and who knows what Hillary will end up being. there was talk of her at the head of some economic council.

Dear Mamzelle, I cannot comment on the Great Whore (apart from it or she will not be super obvious), but I can say something about the final AntiChristos. The final Anti Christ. He, and the false prophet, will definitely NOT be obvious. They will convince the vast majority of the world, even the elect. They shall have vast political power, and bring about global peace and unity ....at least for a while before things go downhill. Real political and religious power when it comes to the false prophet, with miracles included. The false prophet and the antichristos will be thoroughly believable, confusing even the elect.
This tells me one simple thing. It will not be anyone we currently, or in the past, consider or considered to be a 'serious contender.' All the names people have suggested - Obama, Putin, George Bush (the senior), Reagan, Pope John Paul, Hitler, or even going all the way to Emperor Constantine and Nero ....or even institutions (one person claimed a certain large church). All of those are incorrect. None of them meet the criteria, and to be honest none come close. In fact, the closest ever was many hundreds of years ago in the form of emperor Constantine, especially after his apparent conversion to Christianity and the great economic and social reforms he brought ...and even he still doesn't hit it.
My point is this. The antichristos and the false prophet will not be easy to identify at first, and not only that, but most people will believe in them. Conservatives and Liberals, Americans and Chinese, all races, sinner and MOST saints (were it not for the grace of God).
Which means, if the final antichristos 'suspect' is someone who is a serious contender, and that most FReepers would suspect, it is simply not him. Now, if you see someone that FReepers (to use a small sample set, and we are a small sample set) love and respect like crazy, and you pop over tk DU (to use a similarly small sample set) and realize they love him over there too, that born again Christians and the taliban both respect him, and then you start seeing this person fix huge economic and geopolitical messes on a regional - and then global - level, and in your heart you yourself feel this guy is really a nice chap ....then we are barking up the right dang tree.
