From the movie "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence" and supposedly added by its director, John Ford;
Ransom Stoddard: "You're not going to use the story, Mr. Scott?"
Maxwell Scott: "No, sir. This is the West, sir. When the legend becomes fact, print the legend."

Legends.
Once upon a time, Dr. Gro Harlem Brundtland, the onetime director of WHO who spittle-sprayingly accused Ronald Reagan of being a “failed actor” was more known for running, screaming profanity, out of a high school exam having been caught cheating.
People lie.

I had the good fortune to study English Lit at Loyola in the early 70's. Carol "Sue" Abromaitis is an excellent teacher with a steel-trap mind, compendious knowledge of her subject matter and a staunchly Conservative worldview. I'm amazed that she's still in the saddle forty years later.

Everyone’s flunking the publication of Clancy’s cause of death. It’s so well concealed, I’m beginning to suspect something awful, like suicide. Or death by drugs or alcohol.
