This sounds like a Messianic brochure. In fact, the Ignorant Fisherman blogspot IS connected to Messianic movements designed to ensnare uneducated Jews. I find this little ditty here highly offensive. You serve up a little Judaism with a whole bunch of other stuff tossed in from other religions and then breezily try to imply that those alien parts are part of the Jewish ritual as well. It is factually inaccurate. I particularly loved the part where the Jewish bride is kidnapped or "raptured"--whatever the heck that means--and confined to a chamber by her Jewish bridegroom to have relations--almost fell out of my computer chair laughing.
If you are a member of some Christian denomination, please stick to descriptions of your own religion, and leave writing about Jewish practices to actual Jews. That way, we might actually have something posted here which is accurate. If you are a Jew, you are obviously bereft of an education in authentic Judaism. There are places you can attend classes to amend that.
Messianic believers are Christian Jews and there is nothing at all offensive. It is very Biblical actually.
If you believe that current “Jewish” practices have any relationship to The Torah that Yehova delivered on Mt. Sinai, you’d do well to heed even the very least educated “Messianic.”
My dear friend, Judaism and Messianic or “Christians are one in the same. It is not all relative.... I am a gentile who has received the Messiah of Israel (Psalm 11):1, Isa 53)
The Messiah of Israel IS the Savior of the world (for the Jew and Gentile - Isa. 53).
Put aside the Rabbi’s teachings and your “classes” and look into the Scriptures for yourself. May I ask you this question... Where is your Lamb and atonement (Lev. 17:11-14, Isa. 53)? Good works can not save your soul only the shed blood of God’s Lamb the Messiah! (Isa. 53)
Jesus IS the Messiah! and Savior! Instead of scoffing at that truth I challenge you to see for yourself!
He’s coming back soon to establish His Kingdom in Israel for a 1000 years! (Isa. 11, Mic. 4:1-4, Zech. 12:10-14, Zech. 14)!
Shalom in the risen Messiah of Israel (Psalm 110:1)!
Study Arnold G Fruchtenbaum’s “The Footsteps of the Messiah”, Appendix III.
The bad part of this is of course the Jewish/chrstian syncretism and possibility of Jewish souls being ensnared (G-d forbid!).
But there are good things too. Fundamentalist Protestants look up to Jews as genuine (a compliment they don't pay to the ancient chrstian communities). They even acknowledge their authority (or at least expertise) in a limited way. Torah Jews should take advantage of this situation to educate well-meaning non-Jews about the Truth of Torah as opposed to all other religions. It's almost impossible to get them to drop their preconceptions, but I believe the effort must be made.
Telling chrstians to stick to their own religion, when that religion is objectively false, is counterproductive IMHO.
