I agree. I am always amazed at the middle-school cockiness of those who display their own fogbound notions as if they were new, brilliant insights. They don't consider for a moment that tens of thousands of people, much-better informed than themselves, have examined, contested and dissected all these questions minutely for a score of centuries, and drawn quite different conclusions than themselves.

It's like a 13-year-old wandering into an exacting technical discussion by advanced physicists, listening uncomprehending for 2 1/2 minutes, and then proclaiming with adolescent confidence, "But guess what, you guys.. light is both a particle and a wave! Did'ja ever think of that? Huh? Did'ja? No, I didn't think so. You guys just can't handle the truth."
