(Please only post if you are on the Oswald Chambers and/or Joel Osteen threads ping list or read them daily.)
Hi everyone, I begin a new job this week and it will become hard to post the Daily Reflections with Oswald Chambers and the Today's Word with Joel Osteen threads every morning.
To give you some history, the Chambers thread is an institution on Free Republic. I began posting it sometime around 2006 (if my memory is correct) and I believe I have the longest tenure of posting it on FR. I created the Osteen thread roughly four years ago.
I'm willing to keep these going but wanted to let everyone know once upon a time this responsibility was passed around. And if I keep them going something will have to change.
The options:
Do people care if these threads go away? (I'm just curious about the demand.)
Is anyone committed enough to take over posting the Chambers and/or Osteen threads every morning?
In the worse case I may be able to continue posting them, however they would be posted at night and the Osteen thread would be a day behind it's current message.
Oswald Chambers!
I love Oswald! I had the everyday book in the eighties. I have it in storage. This is just wonderful. He was a great Christian.
I love reading them every morning. I did recently sign up for the Osteen email and I have Oswald Chambers bookmarked so I am not dependent on you posting them any longer. Just wanted to let you know how much they are appreciated.
I read them and would miss them if they were gone.
You can take me off your list for Oswald Chambers; I can go to it myself. I am not on the Osteen list
Thank you for posting these each day; you are the reason I read Chambers and I got my brother started reading him, too. You do good work.
I read Oswald Chambers' My Utmost for His Highest every day for shoot, almost 20 years. His writings helped me immensely.
Joel helped change my thinking from negative to positive. I actually renounced negative thing becasue of Joel. And I admire his character as a good example for myself.
But over the last few years, I've encountered Joseph Prince whose message of grace and the centrality of Jesus has revolutionized my life and set me free. Although I do like and read Joel's devotionals, but I can probably let it go lieu of the devotionals I'm now getting from Joseph Prince.
Thanks again for your faithfulness.
I appreciate your efforts at raising the level of discourse here at FR, but we need Chambers far more than Osteen.
The Chambers thread would be dearly missed. The other....not so much.
You can skip Osteen. I never read his stuff.
I am willing to post the Chambers thread, if you would like, with this caveat: I live on the edge of the jungle in Papua, Indonesia. Sometimes, I don’t have internet service or electricity. It isn’t often, but there you are.
If someone else with more reliable service volunteers, go with them. I am a last-case volunteer.
I will miss Oswald.Never listened or read the other. Never will.
I read the Oswald Chambers post religiously. I love being able to read off of the computer, but I have the book, so I can go old school. Good luck on your new job.
Congratulation on the new job. Thanks for faithfully posting these. I love the Oswald Chambers post and would miss it if it went away.
Just wanted to thank you for posting the Oswald Chambers... I have really enjoyed reading them.
I don’t read these threads anymore. I do appreciate you efforts over the years.
