Mitt Romney officially announced his candidacy for president in June 2011. But during the spring of that year, Romney considered scrapping his campaign altogether, as detailed in a soon-to-be-released book about the 2012 presidential campaign by The Washington Post’s Dan Balz.

He gave up by not challenging the biased moderators for the presidential debates.

I knew his heart wasn’t in it. The guy just went through the motions. He never fought back. The Romney campaign was the worst I have ever seen.

Sure he did.If he had done that he wouldn’t be able to throw the election to the muzzi. Not buying it one bit.

Note to the Republican establishment:

Nominate a conservative or a libertarian.

You can both win and eliminate all of this post-mortem hand-wringing.

All Romney’s energy and money, and all Karl Rove’s energy and influence, and all the GOPe’s energy and corruption, went into the primary campaign, to ensure that a conservative could not win.

That was the real campaign. After Romney won the primary, his job was done. Then he just sat back, and handed the election to the Democrats.

Even then, Romney could have won if he had contested the DNC’s flagrant vote manipulations. But of course he never said a word about it or uttered a peep of protest, although it was incredibly flagrant.

His job was done.

I hadn’t looked at it that way before, but that has a lot of merit to it. If any Conservative would have been nominated - they might have actually won - thereby thwarting the GOP Establishment’s intended backing of that moron Jeb in 2016. They would have had to wait at least 8 years.

And let me guess:
Then, Karl Rove and Ted Baxter went down on their hands and knees and begged him to stay in the race...and so he did.

Juan McCain never was serious about winning either. He should have bailed and passed off the controls to Sarah Palin. She would have given Boy Kenya a run for his money. Romney and McCain only wanted their tickets punched. Running for president was on their “bucket lists”.

After Romney won the primary, his job was done.

It was obvious, wasn't it? After the Bloody Thursday w/drudge's help against Newt - it was over.

to ensure that a conservative could not win.

Exactly. He had 'his conservative team' in place because he was dead sure Sarah would be in the race. And his team went after Perry and never Romney. All romney did was attack Perry and, then, Newt - after the debates. He didn't have a chance in hell during the debates, no one did. It was all staged by the GOPe/Romney from the get go.

'The Romney campaign was the worst I have ever seen' ping.

The coordination with Rove and the GOPe assured both his primary win and his general election FAIL. Bastards.
