Carter had angry exchanges with John Paul, but the next President, Reagan shared information with him and worked with him to help bring down Communism in the Eastern bloc. Carter’s a typical liberal. He was more interested in changing Catholic Church teaching than helping all the human beings enslaved under Communism.
