Regulator, I can’t remember wherre I read it now, but there was supposedly eyewitness accounts/records of when the saints were murdered by the romans in the colloseums, (mguiht have been josephus who recorded it) which said soem saints were tied to spits over a fire, and sang while beign roasted alive, and even told the tenders “Turn me over, thsi side is done”- I’d have to do osme seriosu research to refind it- but it’s soemthign that has stuck with me for a very logn time, knowing that Christ will mostl ikely endow us with supernatural power to endure- I also htink of shadrach mechak and abendigo who withstood the furnaces while hte ones throwing them in were burned alive- they were beign persecuted for hteir faith, and God gave them the pwoer to overcome- even sendign an angel to accompany them- I imagine that is what it is like when we face persecution for God’s sake.

It will truly be a sad tiem to see family turn from us- hopwever ,one hting that sort of helps is that htere will be no more sorrow in heaven, and I was told once that because there will be no more sorrow, we will NOT remember our loved ones who didn’t accept Christ- for if we did, there certainyl woudl be sorrow in heaven- Not sure if thsi is true, butit does kind of help to think it will be true- We will only know what is good and perfect in Heaven-

[[Well, IMO we are enduring some of it now, albeit only the tiniest amounts.]]

I dunno- in the last 5 years, there has seemd to be a cocnerted effort to usher in lawlessness- We see mayors in NY ignoring the law, using tyranny to subdue his state’s citizens into compliance- pushing in other states to get them to do the same- I see our president ignoring the constitution, violating our irghts, schools strongly opushign homosexuality on the kids, gay marriage startign to sweep through the nation (Rushia just accuded dearl eader of beign weak and presidign over soddom and ghomorrah), pres attackign CHristians, assaultign our beleifs, IRS targetting conservatives itnentionally and without remorse- president givign stand down order whiel Americans died under his command and then NOT answerign to the charges- holder flaunting his sin and refusign to step down

I just see a massive increase i n the last 5 years- a very rapid assault on morality and laws-

[[but I expect that the bride will be spared the full weight of the judgment meant for unbelievers.]]

Oh I absolutely beleive we will escape that judgement- the ful lweight of it anyways- possibly even all of it- - I didn’t mean to imply the judgement was upon us- only that quite possibly the very begginings of the judgement might possibly be starting- judging by what we are witnessing here and hte world over

I heartedly agree...lawlessness is rising..and boldly..no longer hidden as there is no shame in todays America.

Putin is correct...pretty bad when a Russian nation see’s a weak US Pres. sitting over a nation of sodomites..which by the way makes his nation incorrectly seen as inviting.

I’m being facetious on purpose. Before Jehovah revealed the way in which He was saving, He still saved Jews by faith, receiving His spirit. He didn’t morph later into a Father and Son and Holy Spirit; that’s who He always was. Anyhow, of course a pie wouldn’t be a plausible form of Almighty God.

If Darby said anything in the bible is wrong, then he’d be wrong.

But you misrepresent Darby. Christians had various favorite theories; fewer of those who held the theories elevated them to the level of basic faith upon Christ. Now not all the theories could be true, but some were nearer the truth than others. God in His grace will graciously correct the errors of a willing soul. I too have some theories, but I do not depend on nailing them all correctly for salvation.

By the way where do you get off accusing me of “faith+works”?

ANY error is a sin. But if the soul is willingly yielded to the Lord, with a view to being made perfect in the Lord’s good time in the Lord’s good plan, it is a sin that WILL (not might, WILL) be forgiven.

Washington with Obama seems to be setting a lot of the tone for this. At the state level, shenanigans go on about which the perpetrators say “oh, we’re not as bad as Obama” or “Obama can do this, why can’t we.”

A saner president would help here, especially if it is a strong believer like Sarah Palin. (As an example. If she can’t make it or is not suitable, then someone else who is a strong believer. Please let’s not get into catcalls over Sarah Palin.)

I think it's been there staring at us this whole time. John had a really tough job. Putting down on paper in mere sentences what obviously took several thousand years to witness. Trying to fit time travel into a linear view is not something I'd care to do.

Good point. I think we can also sympathize with the Apostle John in trying to describe, in first century Jewish culture, all the things he saw with the only words he knew. How does such a person describe helicopters, for example? Wouldn't they look like flying locusts with mens' faces and fire shooting from them?

I wasn't trying to correct so much as discuss. We know from Scripture that there will be more than one resurrection of humans. At the Rapture, I believe, both the saved from before Christ's coming as well as those saved after he came will be given their glorified, resurrected bodies and will participate in the Marriage Supper of the Lamb in heaven for the duration of the Tribulation.

Those believers who are still alive coming out of the Great Tribulation will go into the Millennial reign of Christ in their human bodies and will have the "Tree of Life" from which to eat to remain living throughout the thousand years. Those who died as believers during the Tribulation will also go into the Millennium with glorified bodies. It is at the end of thousand year reign of Christ on earth that the "Great White Throne Judgment (GWTJ)" happens. At that time, the unsaved - who have been in Hades - will be brought to judgment along with the children who were born from the believers who went into the Millennium in their human bodies. It is these children who will have a choice to believe in Christ - and this is while He will be here ruling them! Some, shockingly, will reject Christ and will be the ones Satan pulls away to lead into the final battle with Christ. That final battle is what culminates with the GWTJ and the "sheep" (those who endured in faith during the thousand years of Christ) are separated from the "goats" (ALL those who rejected Christ). That is when the "second death" happens to the lost and they are cast into hell along with Satan, his angels, the Anti-christ, the false prophet for eternity. The "sheep" are then given their glorified bodies and will join all believers to live for eternity with Christ in heaven.

At least that is my recollection of the chain of events as they are spelled out in Revelation as well as other Biblical books.

“Wheat and tares are believers and unbelievers @ Judgement. Read Revelation....Goats and sheep...as well as others.”

The judgment happened at the fall of Jerusalem in 70 AD, while some of Christ’s disciples (His original 12) still lived. Matthew 16:27-28. Revelation 1-7 is about the tribulation/persecution of the church and Christ’s messengers *the apostles) pre-70 AD. Chapters 8-20 portray the soon-to-come judgment of Jerusalem and the destruction of the city and its temple. Chapters 20-21 portray the full implementation of God’s grace in earth via the church, the “New Jerusalem.”

Revelation is a story of two women: the idolatrous wife (apostate Israel) and the faithful bride (the church, believing Jews and Gentiles). The wheat and tares are Jews who believed Christ’s message (the wheat) and who fled the coming judgment upon Jerusalem and those who didn’t believe in Christ (tares) and who were destroyed by both the civil war that engulfed the city and the Romans who besieged it and tore it down to the ground.

All the prophecies of the New Testament not fulfilled by the cross were fulfilled less than 40 years later, while the generation He foretold would see these things still lived.

All this other stuff about people flying off into space is a distraction that keeps the church from changing the world for the better.

This world is what people make it. If you don’t want to see it go to hell, get your eyes off the sky and your head out of the clouds. That’s the message to the men of Galilee from the angels the day Christ ascended, and it’s right there in Acts 1, the very first chapter of the book that describes how they began to do just that.

The anti-Christ will not be instrumental in their accumulation of wealth...but their security will one day depend on his acts ultimately..7 yr. agreement comes to mind.

Yes - makes it hard to tell if those working on "peace in the area" are good guys or bad guys...

The creation mystery/controversy really comes down to this, though few ever say it: our concept of time and our understanding of time is very limited. Milky ways that are further away are shaped the way those closer to us should look...why? Time bends, time changes, and as Einstein taught us, time and space are ultimately the same property. What was a billiion years, or one day, might well have been the same thing. Wild, but science is still playing catch up to the Bible.
We need to stop being prisoners to our concept of time and space....God is not so constrained....

And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness (2 Thess. 2:10-12).

So what is that 'delusion' God sends? Seems one must need know the 'lie' to know if they are deluded? Christ Himself said 'time' was shortened for the very elect's sake? Yet the raputrites ignore that bit of the calculation.

I don’t see how I’ve misrepresented Darby, considering that all I’ve said was 1) he came up with the premillennial dispensationalist eschatology, and 2) his theory is a historical anomaly that didn’t exist for 1800+ years after Christ. Both of these facts are readily confirmed by a look at church history or an encyclopedia.

Please note my previous post where I quoted Justin Martyr that “other believers hold otherwise” from me and remain believers.

You’re contending that his entire work has to stand or fall as a whole. If Darby claimed it did, then Darby was wrong. But Darby may have brought things into focus that previous generations of Christians, if they did, were not recorded as doing so in documents that still exist today.
