Most people, at least in the US, don't realize the Roman Empire didn't fall until hundreds of years after the Western Empire had fallen apart so they don't realize that Constantinople was the capital of the Roman Empire for nearly as long as Rome was.

You just can't get some people past the incorrect translation of "mountains" as "hills" so they can claim Rome, built on thirteen hills, is the capital of the evil empire. Forget the fact that Constantinople where the Caliphate was centered was built on seven and only seven hills, it doesn't fit with the Bestselling Surrender and Evacuate Doctrine.
