“Wish Walid would consider Noachism.

He might want to look into the Primitive Baptists if he can deal with no missionary activity and the belief that oodles and oodles of people who were never chrstians in their lives may be among the “elect.”

He sounds like he takes the scripture seriously, so I doubt he’d ever find himself in either of those two camps.

The reason for his journey is simple - he was a drunk.

Catholicism permits liquor. Mormonism forbids it.

"Wine is a mocker and strong drink is raging, and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise."

I'm kinda conflicted here. While it's true that the Torah does not forbid alcohol (in fact prescribes it on certain occasions) and that it is forbidden to add to the Torah, temperance/teetotalism/prohibitionism is one of those American Fundamentalist Protestant distinctives I love so much. And while it was originally a left-wing reform movement, it is now considered conservative because it has stubbornly retained its original moral positions when other social reformers turned against the very concept of morality. And ironically, the anti-alcohol churches are the pro-Jewish ones.

May Neal Dow forgive you, widey, you Commie, you.

Hey! The Hardshells take their scripture very seriously! They believe in total predestination with no human input at all, that the natural "totally depraved man" will never seek G-d at all, therefore all those who are "seeking G-d" in whatever religion are already among the elect--else they wouldn't be seeking Him, would they? Some Hardshells are actually universalists, as hard as that may be to understand.

As for we Noachides, we take the Bible more seriously than any chrstian, most of whom can't even read it. Plus we read the original version, before the "new testament" was added (paving the way for similar heretics to add the "book of mormon" later).

“They believe in total predestination with no human input at all, “

But the scripture teaches that those who are predestinated, as a result, believe, not to mention all the verses on hell and those going there. If that’s your idea of “serious” scripture believing, I’d hate to see what you think isn’t.

“As for we Noachides, we take the Bible more seriously than any chrstian,”

Except all the parts where the Messiah, who is God, is supposed to show up after 70 Weeks, die for the sins of many, followed by the destruction of the Temple.

Shoebat cannot escape being Ishmael (”And he will be a wild man...”) by becoming a Christian. Neither can Esau/Edom escape his fate without the transformation (tikun) of the Sheva Mitzvot B’nai Noach.

What's next, the attempt by some Beck fangirls to have his threads given caucus status?

They'd do it in a heartbeat if they thought it would work.

Beck shows many of the traits of alcoholism, particularly the grandiosity.

The grandiosity of mormonism in believing it will rule the world is a perfect fit for Glenn.

“[T]he kingdom of God... is to be a POLITICAL INSTITUTION THAT SHALL HOLD SWAY OVER ALL THE EARTH; TO WHICH ALL OTHER GOVERNMENTS WILL BE SUBORDINATE AND BY WHICH THEY WILL BE DOMINATED.” The Rise and Fall of Nauvoo, 1900, p. 180

“The Almighty has established this kingdom with order and laws and every thing pertaining thereto…[so] that when the nations shall be convulsed, we may stand forth as saviours…and finally redeem a ruined world, not only in a religious but in a political point of view.” (Journal of Discourses, vol. 9, p. 342, April 13, 1862)

“What the world calls ‘Mormonism’ will rule every nation...God has decreed it, and his own right arm will accomplish it. This will make the heathen rage.” (Journal of Discourses, vol. 7, p. 53)

The Only True and Living Church LDS.org

"A revelation given to the Prophet Joseph Smith in 1831, soon after the organization of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, spoke of those who had been given “power to lay the foundation of this church.” The Lord then referred to the Church as “the only true and living church upon the face of the whole earth, with which I, the Lord, am well pleased” (D&C 1:30)"/font

I have read a good piece of the Koran and I did not come out thinking it was a “religion of peace”! It was Christianity up-side-down in many ways. Glenn is a Mormon so maybe they have a different idea of peace. I don’t think it’s that extreme, though.

Chrislam is probably a project of the Mormon church leaders and they are using Beck to promote it. Catholics and other Christian churches are doing it, too. It is based on deception!

I guess they all missed the fact that since the “moderate Muslim Brotherhood” has taken over nations, Muslims are murdering Christians by the thousands?

He rarely makes direct mention of the Mormon church & `food insurance’ seems to be the nearest thing to Mormon teachings which he promotes.

Beck plays the game, he will deliver as much Mormonism as his audience will tolerate, Mormons are taught how to work on people and overcome their defenses, Mormons are even taught to lie and to conceal Mormon teachings and to let them out in stages, "milk before meat" they call it.

Mormons first want you to think that they are one of you, Christian, they speak of Jesus etc., the goal is to string you along, to pull you in without triggering your defensive response, or shock, or revulsion.
Even within the religion, the people are separated, regular Mormons are forbidden to worship and witness the secrets and ceremonies that the elite Mormons attend and perform in those grand temples. An annual ID card is issued to those who pay 10% of their verified income and who must pass an interview every two years, to use those temples and to know what happens inside.

Here is Beck's book on Mormonism-- http://www.amazon.com/movies-tv/dp/B001EVKWLQ

Beck does promote Mormonism on his show, for example here-- http://www.glennbeck.com/2012/09/06/polygamy-magic-underwear-people-on-bikes-glenn-discusses-mormon-myths-in-theblaze-tv-special/

I just love it when people ascribe deep religious conviction to Joseph Smith....he was no more than a pedophile/womanizer/pervert who figured out a way to get sex with as many females as possible thru the guise of “religion”....

OK, I get it about “the milk before the meat” tactic used by the mishies because “the milk” is probably all they are capable of defending at their tender age.

I was tending to agree with whoever said that GB turned to Mormonism to give him the dawn-to-dusk discipline & supervision to overcome his personal devils that he was unable to deal with using the Catholic teachings he was brought up with.

GB himself probably wants to take in only “the milk” & would rather not have to `hie himself to Kolob in the twinkling of an eye’ and be confronted by Joseph Smith wielding the keys to the Celestial Kingom. He may even be uncomfortable at the Mormon aversion to the Cross, and that their temples are topped with the image of an angel the name of which doesn’t appear anywhere in Scripture.

Actually Beck seems to be a powerful figure for Mormonism, and one of the most devout and dedicated Mormons, a “Temple Mormon”, a part of the elite, the dedicated, the true believers.

Glenn Beck has a Temple Recommend, that means he is a red hot, truly devoted Mormon and meets extremely strict spiritual and expensive requirements, for instance, 10% of everything he makes is given to the church, not suggested, it is required.

He can also become a God at his level, Glenn Beck is not a lukewarm Mormon, he is an exceptionally devoted Mormon.

I take exception to this. I come from a Grandmother that is a direct descendant of Ulster-Scots of Appalachia. I spent my formative years between a Primative Baptist church and a typical protestant church (Presbyterian). I'll admit that, as a child, I went to the protestant church every chance I got over the PB one. They had fun stuff like Sunday school where you got to glue pictures of Jesus on popsicle sticks. When you came out of PB church after about three or so hours of brimstone, hellfire and damnation you were about scared to breath the air for fear of sinning. BUT, now as an adult, looking back, I understand a lot more about religion because of my Primitive Baptist experience than I do from my watered down protestant experience.

Showbiz attracts all denominations. The Vegas- Howard Hughes maintainers (dubbed the mormon mafia) were all... Mormons and connected in Nevada machine politics (as vs. the mob). Of course Hughes was a paranoid obssessive compulsive at that point, and was monitored by domestic company (see aye heyyyy)types like his vegas business manager Robert Maheu, who was a catholic.

Disturbing that any denom has weaseled into our gov, especially the muzzies, who have bought their way in courtesy of the saudis. Appalling really what turds our public servants(slaves) are to the nickels they must lap up. Lap dogs, liars, rinos, dinos, and all else.

I know. And it's unbelievable how much misinformation there is on this topic. There are so many people who believe one can be an authentic observant Noachide while continuing to observe/practice some other religion (Xianity, islam, etc.). Apparently there are "authorities" out there who teach that these days! Many people are being led astray.

Anybody who SERIOUSLY equates Islam with any other religious system, extant or extinct, has a serious reality problem and should seek treatment quickly.

Hey! Neal Dow was a good guy!

I don't even wanna know what you think about Thurlow Weed. It's like I don't even know you any more, Widey!

You do know that "the pledge" to abstain "teetotally" from alcohol was started by an Irish Catholic priest, don't you?
