Spoken like a real "Yoga lover." Just don't move into my neighborhood, n'kay? Housing values here have already plummeted far enough.

I'll say this for yoga: I practiced it for several years without any chanting or homage to Hindu gods, and the stretching healed my badly damaged joint without any more of those horrible cortisone shots or surgery. I'm getting old; so it worked better for me than lifting weights or anything like that.

It's just your basic package of non impact exercise. a friend of mine has greeted every morning of his life that he can remember by assuming a lotus position, rotating on his arms and achieving a head stand.

He stays there a few minutes, recovers and goes on about his business. He's old enough now that this is as much a test of his continuing existence as it is anything else.

Absolutely Yoga is better than some traditional medicines. Yoga is not easy for someone who has never done it. Lots of folks come in and take a class and shy away, because it is not easy, but in yoga we always say.. “it is not a competition” you work on your own level and gain flexibility and strength at your own pace.
