And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.

Before the fall, from the beginning, God established an orderly world. "Evening followed by morning" describes a creation of divine order, not random events. Other god's are capricious but the true God is a God of order, a God fully in control of His creation working in an orderly manner. Evolution requires that we reject an orderly God fully in control, and accept a God who creates from chaos. The repetition of "evening followed by morning" indicates such order and control that its one major reason it is impossible reconcile scripture to evolution.
