“What is “good” to an atheist? I never know how they come upon their definition. So many simply seem to adopt so much from Christianity in defining good.”

It’s funny, I just read this from an atheist artist yesterday, talking about his influences:

“and perhaps most significantly and despite my staunch atheism, these three words:

Do unto others...

Jesus stole that line I bet.”

So, even when they adopt what they recognize as good from Christian morality, they do it begrudgingly, and seek to avoid giving credit if they can find a way.

I don’t understand atheists who believe there is no God and no life after this one. Why, if that is the case, do they even care about being “good”?
