As a non-Roman Catholic, I take his words to mean the catholic (small c) church, not the Roman Catholic Church. If that is what he means, then he is 100% correct. Those who seek to follow Jesus by mixing Christian teaching with Buddhism or a neo-Pagan mélange of Christianity and a bunch of other weird beliefs are not going to find Christ and his salvation.

The Church (the body of Christ) is where those who follow Christ dwell. Those who try to fit Jesus into their own mish-mash of beliefs will fail to find Christ there.

The Pope is not only wrong, he’s far, far wrong. I’m disappointed at his ignorance of Scripture. This is very sad.

I know of Muslims in countries where there are no Churches who have come to trust Christ as a result of Christ appearing in a dream to them and calling them to himself.

People who have entrusted themselves to the Gospel of Grace ARE His Church, His Body, His Bride.

I believe that the pope is stating the Catholic position to Catholics, as it is opposed to “Bible alone” Protestantism.

I’ve worked along with many non-Christians who are obviously devoted to Christ, by the grace of God.

But Jesus established a Church that the gates of hell will not prevail against. Yes, non-Catholic Christians can be saved, but it is through the mediation of Christ’s atonement which is made present to us through His Church.

10-4. Totally agree. I will not attack him. He has his “opinion.” I have mine, however it seems I base mine on the Bible and he has this idea that only he and the mama church has the right answers. Sorry. I disagree with him. Mine is told to me by the Bible. GOD gave us Jesus. Not the mama church.
