I agree with you in most part.

I heard all the arguments about these verse in Hebrews 10:26.
And I know God will as long as I live won't let me hear the end of it so I won't brag about heaing it all .. LOL.

There will be more arguments about this verse I know in the future.
I always thought that Apostates; i.e. were those who left the faith.
I do beleive in once saved, always saved.
But could it be ?
For those who think they are saved and then turn back into Judiasm, or back into the world, or renouce their faith in Jesus Christ ?
Anyway, yes, I even asked our pastor this question because I confessed to him I was backslidden before, and I heard all the arguments about that before to.

Those " LAW PREACHERS " and teachers would have people think that even if you backslide ? your going to hell if you don't repent.

The proper greek meaning to the word for repentance is: to have a change of mind.

And what John the baptist was preaching about " Repentance " was ? to turn from the former way of thinking, i.e. of keeping the law and turn the Jesus Christ.

You see ?

After 2000 years of Christianty ?
We have become so complacent, got to remember ?
Jesus's preaching was so radical in it's day.
So new was his teaching.

The old Jewish hebrew rabbis did not know the meaning of the symbol of their Hebrew letter 5 hei meant.
All they could say it was, was it was a open door or window, it was a mystery to them.

The 5th letter in Hebrew means, GRACE.

They had no concept of grace as we know it today, for Grace and Truth came by Jesus Christ.

Anyway, what the writer of the book of Hebrews were trying to warm those who have heard the message of the cross of Jesus that ?
Hey ? please ? don't turn back into Judiasm, or back to the law, it won't save you.
I wonder ?
Did the writer of the book of Hebrews was warned by the holy spirit of the inpending doom of Jerusalem ?
Was the book of Hebrews writter a few years before 70 AD ?
There was a Roman general who came up to the walls of Jerusalem, but, for some strange reason did not attack Jerusalem.
Was the book of Hebrews writter between this time the one Roman general retreated, and then the other Roman general eventually came and destoryed Jerusalem ?

All I know is those who are APOSTATES, are those who renounce their christian faith.

But, yes, my pastor told me the same think, this part of the book of Hebrews, that it was for those who fellowshiped with Christians, and tasted the life, and heard the message, but, not actually converted yet, or saved yet.

Another reason why they left was of persecution, and excommication from the Synagogues for even associating with the christians, or losing their businesses, wealth, fame, or standing in the community by being with the christians.

[[But could it be ?]]

No- God makes it clear once saved always saved- The verses lsited here are talkign abotu htose that got almsot all the way to salvation, but hten refused to go any further to the final acceptign of Christ as personal Savior, and who then turned on God and Christ and His peopel vehemently- Yuo may have run across soem liek that in your life- I have met a few liek that- they are now bitterly apposed to God and His people- God is tellign them they were given their chance once, they will not be given antoehr chance

[[Those “ LAW PREACHERS “ and teachers would have people think that even if you backslide ? your going to hell if you don’t repent.]]

They are wrong-

[[The proper greek meaning to the word for repentance is: to have a change of mind.]]

At which point the Holy Spirit Brigns abotu a CHANGE OF SPIRIT- where hte spirit was ocne dead, it is now alive upon repentence at salvation- You pass from death unto life and no man can cause that new life to be undone- and when it says ‘no man, that means not even yourself

[[All I know is those who are APOSTATES, are those who renounce their christian faith.]]

Actually they never had a Christian faith- they only knew HOW to have a Christian faith- but they never actually received Christ by faith- A Christian can never becoem an apostate- The dictionary says ‘one who abandons one’s Christian faith’ but the dictionary is wrong- these people didn’t yet have faith- It’s true they abandoned the religion, but not their faith as they simply did not have faith in Christ yet-
