A friend and I were talking this evening and both of us are betting we will get a black Pope.
I only hope he is Conservative and not connected to Soros.
The Church needs an exceptional leader now more than ever.
This Papacy is critical.
I have not understood why Turkson is even considered a papabile. I’ve guessed that it’s because people are just inserting him into the papabile hole left by Arinze (and before him Gallantin). Is it just Soros pumping his name through the media? If so, it’s entertainingly futile. Stephen Schneck has no clout among bishops. On the other hand, the Catholic church is dogmatically pro-union, but anti-socialist.
If Turkson is economically liberal as this article describes him, he’s a follower of Benedict XVI, who has not been heretical by supporting socialism, but does seem to find comfort in big government and international organizations, in spite of the Catholic principle of solidarity.
