There is a huge difference between accepting the freely given donations of the wealthy--and even those poorer (you might be surprised)--given for the purpose of helping those in need, and taking resources under the threat of force from people to hand out for personal gain (vote buying government types).

The former is completely at the discretion of the giver, the latter under duress.

Don't confuse heartfelt charity with Socialism.

Don't confuse heartfelt charity with Socialism.

I did mention that it was on a volunteer basis. What I was trying to say is that they both purport to do similar work, that is help those in need. The major difference being that Christian organizations are trying to help people and socialist organizations are pretending to do it to gain power and wealth for themselves.

To some people, even some Christians, it is understandable that they might confuse the two. While trying to do good for the needy, they may inadvertently do the dirty work of the socialist's agenda.
