Interesting. I’ll chew on that for a bit.

Are you saying that, for example, the entire Gospel of Christ is visible in, say, I Chronicles? or I Chron. 26? or I Chron. 26:18? or I Chron. 26:18 “At the Parbar...”?

Curious.

Well, of all the analogies I use, this one is to be taken the least literally.

I came up with this analogy when, one day, for the upteenth time in my time as a Christian I read a verse I had read a hundred times before, and saw something there that was as clear as glass, though I had never seen it before. It is more like every word of the bible carries the context of the rest of the book with it. Even the Geniologies in the gospels. There are so many layers of meaning behind every single verse that I entertain the idea that, given an eternity to read and study it, one could find the entire mind of God in a single verse.

Again, I exagerate, but maybe that more clealy states where I was going with that analogy. The bottom line is that unlike books from the minds of mere men, it is layers upon layers upon layers of information in a seemingly simple and, sometimes, non-spectacular prose.

The bible, for me, is a very real proof of the existence of God. It’s existence in our world is like finding a smart phone embedded in a million year old archeological dig, locked deep in the rib cage of a dinosaur skeleton. Nothing else even comes close.
