He did, but not in the way you want it answered. The Church already has the answer: gay men cannot be priests

Ok, we all understand that gay men aren't supposed to be ordained.

But they have been and are being ordained, right?

So, we have a systemic problem. The institution is not capable of carrying out the orders so obviously necessary to its own survival, as the larger interest is being subverted by entrenched Church bureaucrats with powerful vested interests.

What to do?

BXVI's solution seems to be to simply re-state the rule and then sit back and wait for the order to be executed by a subversively unwilling executive body.

Clearly, that can't work. It can't work because the entrenched Lavender Mafia won't let it work.

Are you with me so far?

So, if the currently entrenched interests will not exclude all homosexuals from the ranks of the clergy, then it's quite obvious that these same ranks must be purged. IOW, the Lavender Mafia will not reform the Church by purging themselves from all positions of power in the Church. How to purge them?

As Stalin said, "the cadres determine everything." That means that if you want a new policy (like "Socialism in One Country" instead of "World Revolution") that the Trotskyite Old Guard resists, then purge the Old Guard by replacing them with a New Guard that agrees with your new policy. It's the same for the Church. If you don't want the homo-heretical policies of the Old Guard, then you must purge them and replace them with the hetero-orthodox New Guard.

It's not a terribly nice example, but it illustrates the problem. BXVI can repeat the order to bar gays from ordination until he's blue in the face, but the order won't be implemented until he replaces this responsible for implementing it.

This is what the Church will have to do if it wants to survive - i.e. remove every homosexual, whether active or not, from the ranks of the clergy, and replace them with heterosexual men.

The only way to do that is to end priestly celibacy.

It's all rather obvious.

Why the resistance?

“The only way to do that is to end priestly celibacy.”

Wrong.

True, merely re-stating the ban on gay clergy is not enough; a Holy Inquisition is needed to examine the conduct and beliefs of existing clergy. I agree that this part: the actual purging, especially in the seminaries, should be done more forcefully. However, some of it has been done and, I am confident will continue to be done, in the new pontificate.

I disagree on the conclusion that married clergy is the answer. It clearly hasn't helped the boy scouts, the public schools or the sports. It would mean capitulating a centuries-old tradition of the Latin Church, precisely at the time when the flock needs more than ever to learn sexual continence.

I also don't appreciate your tone, sir. You post excerpts from an old article while the rules do not prohibit reproducing the article in full. You attach to it your own rant, about how you left the Church, which properly belongs among Blogger and Vanity section. You then pepper your post with baseless insinuations about the Holy Father. You left the Church? Good riddance. It is faithless ignorant trash such as yourself that is the bigger problem in the Church than all the pederasts combined. Deal with your childhood memories privately, please. If you want to come back, do not think you can do so by suggesting how our Holy Church can be reformed, but rather in penance and obedience to the Church as she is; if you don't want to come back, why should we waste time conversing with you? We have more important enemies than your confused and messed up person.

WRONG. Those heterosexuals suffering from the homosexual mental disorder (there are no 'gay' beings) are no longer being considered -they are justly discriminated against.

I think you should do some research -you seem heavy on opinion and light on facts.
