So how does celibacy have anything to do with it?

Did you read the post? Benedict XVI answered your question.

"[i]t would be extremely dangerous if celibacy became a sort of pretext for bringing people into priesthood who don't want to get married anyway."

He said this is 2010, after the Church was all but completely destroyed, for Pete's sake. The depths of the denial of reality here are difficult to fathom. Celibacy MIGHT become a pretext for gays to swamp the seminaries and worm their way into the hierarchy? That MIGHT happen some day?

Don't you get it? We have a GAY CLERGY. We have a Lavender Mafia (and BXVI might be the head of it, although I'm still giving him the benefit of the doubt). And the reason that we have a Lavender Mafia running the Church is that in the context of an industrialized society healthy and ambitious young men have lots of other career choices aside from the military, the Royal Bureaucracy, and the Church. This has been obvious for the past 70 years at least. Normal young men would prefer to go to graduate school and get married and have a family than live a life of self-denial in the priesthood. So, the number of vocations began to dry up, the seminaries with a wink-and-a-nudge began letting gays in to fill the gap. These gay men were ordained and then formed a network based on their common interests. They promoted each other. They protected each other. They subverted the healthy men who were willing to make the sacrifice of celibacy. They began to turn straight men away from the seminaries they controlled. As they gained power, they made sure that only their folks were in positions of power over other priests.

Bernadine. Weakland. The list goes on. These men perverted the seminaries, promoted the psychologically sick and protected the sexually criminal.

None of this would have happened if normal men had not been forced to choose between marriage and a nice career (open in modern society to nearly any young man intelligent enough to become a priest), as the homosexuals would have been prevented from taking over the commanding heights of the Church's earthly structure.

The only way to rid ourselves of this Lavender Mafia is to REQUIRE all new ordinations be granted EXCLUSIVELY to married men, as our Orthodox brothers require for parish priests.

If the Church would just do that, the priestly ranks would be swamped with healthy family men who would drive the Lavender Mafia into the ground. The Lavender Mafia knows this, which is why they like the celibacy rule so much and are willing to defend it at all costs. It's not that they believe in celibacy for themselves. They do believe in celibacy for heterosexuals, as a way to keep them out of the ranks of the clergy, which will ensure their continued power over us.

I mean, isn't this all obvious? Why can't we just admit this?

Benedict XVI answered your question.

He did, but not in the way you want it answered. The Church already has the answer: gay men cannot be priests.

If only Penn State had permitted their football coaches to marry, the Sandusky thing never would have happened.

Yeah, right.

This poorly disguised vicious and wrong headed erroneous attack on the Church belongs in the Smokey Back Room, not the Religion Forum.

Celibacy has nothing to do with the abuse of children. Don’t you get it — it’s homosexuality.

All sorts of unworthy men become priests, but the worst are those who are unbelievers. Hans Kueng and his 2000 co-signers did nor to undermine the Church than all the gays in the priesthood, who are, after all, merely a sympton.

“So, the number of vocations began to dry up, the seminaries with a wink-and-a-nudge began letting gays in to fill the gap.”

That’s a logical misinterpretation, probably advanced by the same leadership mentioned below. Your own comments attest to the success of the strategy. What follows is from another post in another place, but highly relevant to the discussion at hand. Please take note:

Two former Communists, Bella Dodd and Manning Johnson, spoke on Communist infiltration of the Catholic Church. Dodd, an important Communist party lawyer, teacher and activist, converted to Catholicism in April 1952 under the tutelage of Bishop Fulton J. Sheen. Stating that the Communist infiltration was so extensive that in the future “you will not recognize the Catholic Church,” Dodd also asserted that:

“In the 1930’s, we put eleven hundred men into the priesthood in order to destroy the Church from within.”

“Right now they are in the highest places, and they are working to bring about change in order that the Catholic Church will no longer be effective against Communism.”

Manning Johnson, a former Communist Party official and author of “Color, Communism and Common Sense” testified in 1953 to the House un-American Activities Committee regarding the infiltration of the Catholic Church:

“Once the tactic of infiltration of religious organizations was set by the Kremlin ... the Communists discovered that the destruction of religion could proceed much faster through infiltration of the (Catholic) Church by Communists operating within the Church itself. The Communist leadership in the United States realized that the infiltration tactic in this country would have to adapt itself to American conditions (Europe also had its cells) and the religious make-up peculiar to this country. In the earliest stages it was determined that with only small forces available to them, it would be necessary to concentrate Communist agents in the seminaries. The practical conclusion drawn by the Red leaders was that these institutions would make it possible for a small Communist minority to influence the ideology of future clergymen in the paths conducive to Communist purposes This policy of infiltrating seminaries was successful beyond even our communist expectations.”
