And the following is in no way "downplaying" sin as "little" vs. "big" sins...no such thing...had each of us only committed a single smaller-degreed sin over our lifetimes, these would still warrant a substitutionary sacrifice by the Son of God on the cross on our behalf.
1. Blaspheming the Holy Spirit is the most obvious example...an unforgivable sin per the Bible.
2. There are many references indicating "degrees" of sin...
Simply to make my point, I'll suffice it to just cite another one -- also from Jesus' lips:
13 Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. 14 But it will be more bearable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment than for you. (Luke 10:13-14)
