Seriously. Check it out, Elvis was born January 8, ‘35. Martin Luther King was born Jan. 15, ‘28. Combine the two days into one(a Monday) and we can call it “King Day’’. Celebrate the King of Rock ‘N’ Roll (a white man) and the King of Civil Rights (a Black man.).
I think you ought to put it up at the WH website as a petition to the current idiot in office. he just might like the idea
Thanks. But if he were to know that I’m a middle-aged heterosexual married white guy I’d probably have as much chance of being recognized as the person whose idea it was as a snowball would survive being in a microwave.

Right? I’m tellin’ ya....
And the State of Israel should be able to do the same for only Jewish Holidays, etc. When in Rome. We should not sacrifice the traditions of a nation to accomodate others, rather the others should be willing to devote themselves to the nation and to her traditions.
I may not have grown up with Juneteenth, but that does not give me the right to argue against it’s celebration. The tail does not wag the dog.
How does it “sacrifice the traditions of a nation” to recommend not giving a test or having an assignment due on, say, Yom Kippur?
By arguing that we should treat all religions exactly the same.
