Do you have any facts, evidence, logic, etc. that might buttress your claim of truth?

if you decide, in court for example, that the defendant is not telling the truth, it is up to you to prove that he/she is not doing so. "I didn't commit the crime because I was with my girlfriend and she will testify to that...."

I will, however give some possibilities as to the truth of infallability.

Didn't Jesus say something along the line of "if you bind it on earth, it will be bound in heaven and if you loose it on earth it will be loosed in heaven?"

do you think that He would give the church the authority to DETERMINE what the truth was, and then be stuck with His promise to make it so in heaven....I don't think so. He also PROMISED to guide the church until the end of time.....close enough for me!!

Then why listen to POPES; especially after it's been PROVEN that they are as bad as the rest of us?

terycarl,

Friend, you are not on trial. But you did make a claim that the Catholic Church is always infallible. I asked you if this is simply an opinion or personal belief of yours - apart from anything objective to support it - or if you can back it up. You are free to do either and I accept your choice.

A truth proposition that is unsupported is not much different than a home that is all roof and no walls to support it. It lays on the ground and you can point to it as a roof, but without walls, it isn’t really a roof.

Your main evidence presented above is the verse that says, “if you bind it on earth, it will be bound in heaven and if you loose it on earth it will be loosed in heaven?”

First, in response, I give you a 10 out of 10 for creativity!

A more literal translation helps here: ““Whatever you shall bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven, and whatever you shall loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven.”

Peter’s role in the Messianic kingdom will be carried out by ascertaining the mind of God and then implementing it as a Chief Steward of the Monarch. As such, your creativity doesn’t teach the Catholic Church to be infallible. It teaches Peter’s role in the future will involve discerning the mind of God and acting to implement it.

Additionally, you wrote in summation... “He also PROMISED to guide the church until the end of time.....close enough for me!! “

You don’t quote a verse, so I will refrain from ferreting out what you may be referring to. Suffice it to say, that being guided is quite different than being infallible in following His guidance.

Though your roof is still flat on the ground, you tried creatively and I appreciate that!

Kindest Regards,
AMPU
