Regensburg ~ sat there in a disabled tracked vehicle for several hours waiting on a new engine. As you go around a corner in the town there's a building with a corner clipped ~ over the years so many military vehicles hit that corner they refinished it so the vehicles wouldn't hit it.

There's a great town square there ~ we were quite near it at the time but no one was allowed to leave the convoy lest we disturb the natives ~ most of whom were claimed to always vote for the furthest left candidates.

Regensburg also the second target on the Schweifurt mission in 1943, the Messerschmidt factory. Funny was in Schweinfurt and the Ball bearing factory is still there. Same name and everything.
