I will praise You, O LORD, with my whole heart;
I will tell of all Your marvelous works.
I will be glad and rejoice in You;
I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High.
Father God, You are wonderful and, with the psalmist, we praise Your righteous judgments.
This week You have brought Your people once again to You in a declaration of trust in Your goodness and mercy. Were we not fully at that place before? Forgive us for looking to man to save us. Only God saves! Only God knows how to save and to eliminate evil at the root!
Now here we are fearlessly and confidently and boldly drawing near to the throne of grace (the throne of Gods unmerited favor to us sinners), that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find grace to help in good time for every need [appropriate help and well-timed help, coming just when we need it]. (AMP).
We pray for our military today. Along with your psalmist, we confess: "When their enemies turn back, They shall fall and perish at Your presence. For You have maintained their right and their cause; You sat on the throne judging in righteousness." Thank you for being their refuge in times of trouble. Let those who know Your name put their trust in You; for You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You.
We agree together for our blessed Nation, who we call The Land of the free and the home of the brave. Pour, pour, pour out of Your Spirit. "Let fall in showers, you heavens, from above, and let the skies rain down righteousness [the pure, spiritual, heaven-born possibilities that have their foundation in the holy being of God]; let the earth open, and let them [skies and earth] sprout forth salvation, and let righteousness germinate and spring up [as plants do] together; I the Lord have created it." (Is. 45:8)
Arise, O LORD, Do not let man prevail; Let the nations be judged in Your sight. Put them in fear, O LORD, That the nations may know themselves to be but men. Selah (ps 9:19-20)
We love and trust You in Jesus name. AMEN.
I smelled something burning, so I hurried to the kitchen. Nothing was on the stove or in the oven. I followed my nose through the house. From room to room I went, eventually ending up downstairs. My nose led me to my office and then to my desk. I peeked beneath it and there, peering back at me with big eyes pleading for help, was Maggie, our dog, our very fragrant dog. What smelled like something burning when I was upstairs, now had the distinct odor of skunk. Maggie had gone to the farthest corner of our house to escape the foul smell, but she couldnt get away from herself.
Maggies dilemma brought to mind the many times I have tried to run away from unpleasant circumstances only to discover that the problem was not the situation I was in but me. Since Adam and Eve hid after sinning (Gen. 3:8), weve all followed their example. We run away from situations thinking we can escape the unpleasantnessonly to discover that the unpleasantness is us.
The only way to escape ourselves is to stop hiding, acknowledge our waywardness, and let Jesus wash us clean (Rev. 1:5). I am grateful that when we do sin, Jesus is willing to give us a brand-new start.

I apologize for the double post. Maybe God is asking us to pray twice as diligently today!
Amen to your INSIGHTFUL Prayer for Our American Heroes, our Beloved Nation, and for us as well.
I join in prayer for our heroes and nation!
Praying with you for our Heroes and our beloved Nation.
Blessings to all, etabeta

prayers up
I pray for you in Jesus’ name, and ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light.
He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.
Amen. Thank you for joining me in prayer.
