The parable is about spiritual things, not money. Like many of the parables, it is at first mysterious and puzzling, and then, Aha!
Protestants include a number of minorities so the the "white, Protestant" vote would have been even higher.
And the silence of many priests added to the problem.
Didn’t hear or read a word from our pastor regarding the election at any time this year.
Catholics beg to be bamboozled.
“The Way is narrow.” And a lot of people, not willing to go down the Way, will still tell you they drew a map of the Way just in case.
Didnt hear or read a word from our pastor regarding the election at any time this year.
And here’s what happened to one diocese that DID speak out
obama did not receive one Catholic vote .
Had a conversation with a Romney-supporting regular-mass-attending friend about another Catholic friend who doesn’t support the Second Amendment. He started to say something, and then stopped, so I finished the statement for him: She’s one of those liberal Catholics. He nodded.
Even this friend who is so loyal to the Church and so loath to say anything that will defame the Church had to admit it: The Church is wrong to be liberal on so many issues.
Not duped. They knew what they were doing.
Go to an average Catholic Mass and pick the over/under on how many times the term “Social Justice” will be mentioned.
Well, article says Hispanic Catholics went to Obama 75-21%; and Pew Forum exit polls say white Catholics went Romney 59-40%.
(Btw, in pre-election polling, Pew Forum said Latino Catholics were favoring Obama 73-19...so 75-21 sounds right...and that Latino Evangelicals, who are 14% of Latinos, were favoring Obama 50-39...so it's not only the Latino culture that is problematic...there is something about Catholic culture as well...'cause Latino Catholics favor same-sex marriage -- 54-31%...whereas Latino Evangelicals disfavor same-sex marriage 25-66%...So, what is wrong with Latino Catholic culture that is having a much greater drag, social issues wise, than other Latino religious sub-cultures? And, btw, the problem here isn't only with Latino Catholics...white Catholics favor same-sex marriage 53-37%...so that's 54% of Latino Catholics vs. 53% of white Catholics...showing us that it's the Catholic culture itself that is, in part, corruptive...)

I’ve NEVER heard the term in my parish.
I’ve only heard the term from Jesuits, which does little to break the stereotype there.
I wish we had not allowed the other side to frame the issue linguistically on this. “Social justice” should really be “income equality” or “income redistribution.”
They love that word “social.” Even Social Security is not social security—it is financial security. Millions of older people are living alone, with no family around them and few friends, while the SS checks come faithfully in and their families rest content that they don’t have to worry about them. Social Security has done more to destroy our social framework than any other program.
Thank you. You told us much of what she said. I sure would have liked to hear what you said back. lol
I have weeded out a few "friends" acquaintances, starting in 2008. I tell them to their face how detestable their thinking is......
Re: this last sentence...not so...CNN exit polls said that the vote breakdown of people who attended church weekly was 59-39% Romney.
That's about 2 out of every 5 who went Obama's way.
Given that black Protestants were what I estimate to be about 43% of the overall Protestant vote, yeah, I'm sure that blacks were 2.5 times the number of other groups to represent that 39%...But that still leaves a LOT of others -- Latino Catholics, white Catholics, and white Protestants, who were also part of that figure.
I'm sure the fascist fifth column wouldn't want to see Ryan or Santorum in the limelight come 2016 without first making sure someone had “educated” the masses so they know to stay home rather than voting if there's a Catholic on the ticket in 2016.
**Such bishops served as useful idiots for Biden, who used a campaign commercial featuring images of a crucifix to sell voters on the idea that the Obama administration embodied Catholic social justice.**
They lied. This is not social justice from the Catholic point of view.
Funny that when we read about something like this, it’s against the Catholic Church and not the countless churches that support Obama.
