Lord, we pray for our troops, that when they are afraid, they will put their trust in You.
Father, thank You for the freedom we have to vote and to choose our leaders. As we go to the polls next Tuesday, please grant all of us in this nation wisdom and sound judgment. We ask You, Lord, to guard the integrity of these elections, that all victories would be honest ones.
Lord, we pray for the unborn, asking You to raise up through these elections leaders who will protect them and stand up for them.
Father, You are our Maker, the LORD our God. Forgive us for the times when we fear mortal men, when we forget You, when we live in terror because of the wrath of the oppressor, who is bent on destruction. For where is the wrath of the oppressor? The cowering prisoners will soon be set free, and they will not lack bread. The sons of men are but grass, but You are the LORD Almighty, who churns up the sea so that its waves roar. You are He who comforts us. Your hand, the hand that laid the foundations of the earth, covers us with its shadow; You who set the heavens in place say to us, You are my people. We lift our hearts to You our salvation and our strength and we trust in You through the Name of Jesus our Firstborn brother, Amen.
A call to prayer.
GPS is the latest way for travelers to find the best route to their destination, but my husband and I still navigate the old-fashioned waywith maps. Since Jay is usually the driver, the role of map watcher is mine by default. In general, I am not directionally challenged, but it seems that way when I try to navigate while the car is moving. Even though I know where we want to end up, I cant figure out the best way to get there if we dont stop to find out where we are. I need to get my bearings.
This can be true in our spiritual life as well. When we try to figure out the way God wants us to go, we need to stop and get our spiritual bearings. If we dont, we are likely to end up lost in unintended places, situations, or relationships.
In helping His disciples navigate life and find their way through the traps and temptations of the world, Jesus often said, stop. Stop grumbling, stop judging by mere appearances, stop doubting and believe (John 6:43; 7:24; 20:27 NIV). To follow Jesus, we frequently have to stop something we are doing thats wrong. As we depend on His guidance, we will learn to go in the way He says is right.

Lord God,
Thank You for the privilege of being able to vote on Tuesday. We pray that America would choose the leader who will bless Israel through support and encouragement and defense. May America be blessed once again because we choose to stand by Your chosen. We pray for the peace of Jerusalem. In the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
