Psalm 23

1. The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

2. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

3. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

4. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

5. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

6. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

Oh YHVH Rohi, Our God and Our King,
You are the tender Shepherd Who Leads us ...
You do not Drive us from behind.
You bring us to green fields of Abundance,
And refresh us With clear, cool water.
We ask You To Restore the Soul of America
And lead Us in paths of Righteousness for Your Name's sake.
And even though we face recession, distrust, polarization, and despair
And find we are wandering further into the Valley of Death,
We Know that you are With us.
We gladly accept the discipline of Your Rod,
Because we know that the Leadership and Authority of your Staff Will indeed lead us home to safety.
Our enemies surround us, But You identify them and anoint us to stand tall.
We Know You are with us, and Will be forever, in this world and the next.

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem.
We Pray for Our Own Leaders in America,
May They Speak Comfort to Jerusalem.
May We NOT be Numbered Among Israel's Enemies, God Forbid!
We Pray For The American People,
May They NOT be Deceived by the Media.
May Their Eyes be Opened with regard to God's People Israel.

We pray for an END to Lies,
Slander, Blood Libel, Propaganda,
and Antisemitism against Your Beloved.
We Pray For an End to Slavery,
Hostage-Taking,
and Piracy wherever it is Practiced Around the World.
We Beseech You on Behalf of Our Captive Brethren,
Christians and Jews,
In Bondage in Hostile lands.

We Plead For Israeli Control Over All the Holy Sites in Israel,
so that All Faiths may visit them.
We Pray For Bibi Netanyahu, and the Leaders of Israel
May They Receive Wisdom from You to do the Right Thing.
We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.

The Concept of "The Good Shepherd" is not confined to this Wonderful Psalm. The Prophets speak of God as Our Shepherd, and there are some very strong passages that condemn human leaders who oppress and "fleece" the People of God. The Scriptures pronounce "WOE UNTO" bad shepherds.A GOOD Shepherd LEADS His Sheep, and they follow willingly. A BAD shepherd DRIVES the sheep from behind. Interesting.

Beautiful Psalm.

What is true is the behavior of sheep. They will eat poison plants, they fall down and can’t get up, they wander away into dangerous territory, and generally are prone to infestation by insects. They must be carefully tended and help is necessary if they are to survive. It describes Christian believers, in God Almighty.

Read in “The Time it never rained”, by Texas author Elmer Kelton, the cattlemen had gone to raising sheep instead of cattle due to severe drought .. and when it did rain, the sheep looked up and many drowned.”

We are indeed very like sheep. It is not by accident the LORD calls us sheep. Thank Thee LORD for our shepherd Jesus Christ. We thank Thee, we thank Thee, in Jesus name amen.
