Circumcising young boys on religious grounds amounts to grievous bodily harm, a German court ruled Tuesday in a landmark decision that the Jewish community said trampled on parents' religious rights.
The regional court in Cologne, western Germany, ruled that the "fundamental right of the child to bodily integrity outweighed the fundamental rights of the parents", a judgement that is expected to set a legal precedent.
"The religious freedom of the parents and their right to educate their child would not be unacceptably compromised, if they were obliged to wait until the child could himself decide to be circumcised," the court added.

Antiochus tried to outlaw circumcision also, and we all know how that ended! We Christians should stand with out Jewish brethren and defend their right to keep the Abrahamic covenant.

There goes a couple of thousand years of religious belief down the tubes.
First it was Homosexuals destroying thousands of years of marriage between a man and a woman, and now it’s circumcision.
The Germans have never forgiven the Jews for giving Hitler a bad name.

This is total nonsense. Most doctors agree that it is generally healthier for males to be circumcised. And while adult circumcision is possible, it’s a good deal more painful and difficult than infant circumcision.
Plus, of course, the violation of religious freedom that is involved.

I guess the Germans miss the days of a good ‘Kristallnacht’.

Not to mention the fact that its a hell of a lot harder to convince the patient.

This is total nonsenseAgree, but when has that stopped a liberal from doing what he wants to do? And don't think it's Germany only. San Francisco has been considering a similar ban, it will be on the ballot on November . I don't care what they call it, it is anti-semitism at its best.

I can’t think of a more useless decree than trying to tell Jews they cannot circumcise their baby boys.
Ain’t gonna happen.
What are the Germans going to do about it? “Show me your papers! ...And your baby’s penis”.

I don't care what they call it, it is anti-semitism at its best. I think it is nostalgia. America brought back the 50s with "Happy Days" and the 70s with, of course, "That 70s Show". Germany is bringing back the old days too, and it'll be as cool as The Fonz, at least in the eyes of those who hate Jews.

Circumcising young boys on religious grounds amounts to grievous bodily harm ... Tell the Gestapo you're circumcising the boy for sanitary reasons. Have a brochure to hand, with the stats on urinary-tract infections, cancer rates, std transmission, and so on.

Yes. And for this to come out of Germany is particularly tragic for that country and its efforts to overcome its history and become the great civilized nation it is so capable of being.

Uberman: Ja! And through his, too. [ points at Jimmy Olstein ] He’s a Jew!
Jimmy Olstein: No! No, it’s not true! My parents were just very advanced in hygeine, that’s all..!
Hitler: Silence! Guard, take this Jew away!
Uberman: No need! I’ll drop him off at the camp on my vay to the Eastern front!

Circumcision, or the "Brit Milah," is a part of the covenant that Abraham made with The Lord. With out it, that covenant is broken, and the Germans know it. Even the least religious Jew will need to leave Germany to remain a Jew. At the same time, muslims have a growing population in Germany, and they are gaining more political power. Interestingly enough, muslims believe THEY are the true "children of Abraham" through ishmael. And as such, I believe that muslims ALSO perform ritual circumcisions. Unlike Jews, muslims have a nasty habit of letting their deepest feelings known, unlike Jews, who don't run around rioting or murdering innocents when they're displeased.

Once again antisemitism rears its ugly head in Germany. Maybe not. My son was born in Germany ten years ago and I couldn't find a doctor who would circumcise him. One doctor even told me only Muslims circumcised their babies.

The family involved in this case was Muslim. Who would have thought that there would be so much objection here to a court ruling against Sharia law.
