In his book about his experience, the ‘beings of light’ said that any religion was ok as long as it brought you closer to ‘the One’ or what we humans call “God”

Well now that lie does change the story doesn't it.... And no wonder,..." for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light".

Nothing beats experience, that's for sure. It creates not only unshakeable faith, but a way to constantly surrender to God over and over again.

Let no one deceive you about the primacy of the Word of God......

a lot of people were praying for me

"Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective." James 5:16

And then your son having faith saying through his actions - 'No, it's not going to happen, I WILL get him to the hospital in time.'

Truly a servant's heart working there!

I, too, had a similar event as the doctor said to me in a follow up visit - "it's good to see you but you should be dead'. But Jesus said - "By My Stripes, you were healed". I'm alive because I believed Jesus.

Praise God!

I suspect many of medieval & renaissance images of demons trying to pull dying people down to Hell....may well be totally accurate....

Just remember, you may not be so fortunate as to have an NDE. Shape up now, while you have the chance.

Not to be argumentative, but the time frame is American Professor In France ~ at the end of a three week art tour.

That's going to be at the end of the Spring semester, so first week in JUNE at the earliest (Midwestern schools tend to wrap up by May 15).

OR, in August, just at the end of the French "HOLIDAY PERIOD" where you really do have a doctor problem ~ and so bad at time that 24,000 people did die recently due to lack of care.

Yeah...well...neither of us were there, and I do not take your comment as being argumentative (we’ve both been around these boards for a while). I just offered my opinion based on my experience in Europe, and with French medicine in particular, FWIW.

What a wonderful story! I have called on Jesus for help and he answered me but it was nothing like this.

French medicine has a fair reputation and more recently as it becomes more costly (To the customers) it has supposedly been becoming more efficient and customer friendly.

At the same time they take August off work ~ making France a miserable place to visit in that month.

I was stationed in a small town near Wurzburg Germany for a good long while. Every June they had a Straus Fest ~ which attracted tourists. That went with a wine festival featuring a broad selection of Franconian Wines.

It also attracted far more than its fair share of Swedes, Norwegians and Finns who were using MIdsummer as an excuse to visit lower latitudes where they could sleep.

They'd sleep along the streets, in farmer's fields, just outside our airbase and tank park ~ in the woods (Klauster Forest).

Although we hear about the French shutting down for August, just what do they do in Scandinavia. It's gotta' be awful if not dangerous.

No question...I was in Paris once in August (I think it was in ‘03, on business) and experienced what you speak of. NYC in August has become like this in the past 15 years or so (tourists pretty much have the streets to themselves during this time).

I realize this thread is a bit old now, but could you offer insight towards the reason the OP was zotted?

This thread is linked to Heaven Is Real: A Doctor’s Experience With the Afterlife, which is how I arrived here today...
