I happen to be going through a history of the Church course, and just finished the Late Middle Ages. I cannot imagine living then and *not* thinking it was the end of the world.

I thought of this reading your post about WWI. I think we can point to many incredibly calamitous times in history and yet...

We just can’t know, and if I had to venture a guess, the end would be hidden, then “well, of course..” Like the saying: “The answer - when finally found - will be obvious.

Just MHO.

Thanks, I like your last quote about in the end it will all be seen to be obvious- It is the sam way with Jesus’ first coming- we read the gospels and wonder why they couldn’t see it
