first no one can really force someone to do something they don't want to do, even if you hold a gun to someones head and tell them to particular deed or they will die, it is still the individuals choice to participate or not even if it means they will die.

You are a fool. Everyone can be forced to do something, you just need to find the right leverage. Even the military knows that under enough pain and punishment, everyone will succumb.
