•A majority (55%) of Americans agree that “employers should be required to provide their employees with health care plans that cover contraception and birth control at no cost.” Four-in-ten (40%) disagree with this requirement.

(snip)

•Roughly 6-in-10 Catholics (58%) believe that employers should be required to provide their employees with health care plans that cover contraception.

•Among Catholic voters, support for this requirement is slightly lower at 52%.

•Only half (50%) of white Catholics support this requirement, compared to 47% who oppose it.

•Among other religious Americans, 61% of religiously unaffiliated Americans believe that employers should be required to provide their employees with health care plans that cover contraception, compared to only half (50%) of white mainline Protestants and less than 4-in-10 (38%) white evangelical Protestants.

A survey conducted by a two-year old liberal think tank.

Sounds super reliable.

Sadly, if you asked if people agreed with the statement “Employers should be required to provide their employees with, six figure salaries, 25 hour workweeks, 8 weeks of paid vacation a year, and unlimited sick leave. All at no cost.” You would probably get the same 55% who agreed, that's how Obama got elected in the first place...

These stats are certainly believable, among those who call themselves Catholic.

But no one who believes what the Church teaches dogmatically (a true Catholic) would hold this position.

Limit those being polled to PRACTICING Catholics (and exclude Catholics-in-name-only who may darken the door of a church on Easter and Christmas and/or don’t know the Scriptures and the CCC from the phone book) and I suspect you’d get a radically different result.

Survey is B.S.
Sample group doesn’t address criteria for being considered “Catholic”.
Doesn’t address sterilization or abortifacients.

And, ultimately doesn’t matter because God’s truth isn’t subject to democratic vote.

I’m sure 92.3% of the poll participants who said ‘yes’, just automatically checked ‘yes: to getting free stuff from my employer’, without thinking about any ramifications....

Do these idiots believe the GOVERNMENT should be able to FORCE the Church to behave against conscience?

These idiots should quit pretending to belong to a faith they don’t believe in.

And if the “majority” of Catholics felt that the church should pay for mutilation of female genitals (see Islam)...would that be OK too?

Please, MSM, stay away from logic.

It is not your friend.

“Majority of Catholics Think Employers Should Be Required to Provide...Birth Control”

The big story here is not Catholics, but that Employees want to tell Employers how to run their businesses.

Employers must feel so grateful to have such employees.

Anyone remember Stupak? There is a ‘left’ wing in the Catholic church... To claim differently is to ignore the obvious. Biden, Pewlouise, Kennedy, Stupak, etc., and of course my very liberal ‘Catholic’ practicing inlaws....

I strongly suspect that the polls would be much higher than 55%, especially in Democratic strongholds - where I expect the actual number would be closer to 75%
