A Dunedin pastor recently won a sabbatical grant so she can learn from the ancient Celts and American Indians, according to media reports
The Rev. Victoria “Vicki” ByRoade, of the First Presbyterian Church of Dunedin, received a $49,470 grant from The Lilly Endowment Inc. for spiritual learning and renewal that it believes will better her congregation.
ByRoade and her congregation are among 158 religious groups across 40 states that learned in October they would win awards through the Lilly Endowment's National Clergy Renewal Program

Nothing new. Thomas E Mails, a Lutheran minister, who wrote MYSTIC WARRIORS OF THE PLAINS and other Indian culture books later advertised American Indian occult materials for sale in his later books.
I struggle to remind myself that these people are not the enemy, they are victims of the enemy.

Read a long time ago a report by Methodist missionaries who were instructed by the denomination to try to introduce “Native American” rituals into their Four-Corners mission churches. The result: the tribal church members said that such rituals had not helped their forefathers, and they had no intention of trying them again.
Wish I still had that newsletter. Funny how too much education makes some people dumb.
The Gospel is simple and the scriptures are chock full of subject matter for any minister of it.
I suggest Ms Clergy re-evaluate who and what she is and perhaps seek God's true purpose for her life.

Both of you have been more generous in your comments than I am inclined to be. To put it bluntly, my observation of Protestant groups that have chosen to ignore specific scripture on the role of women is that they have become apostate, nothing more than empty-headed social clubs without a spiritual core worthy of the name. They are case studies in why the Holy Spirit led Paul to write so definitively in multiple letters.
Lots of folks are fleeing the liberal churches these days as worldliness increases.
The Presbyterian Church of America (PCA) has gone the other way and has reformed and is reforming itself to the Holy Scriptures. If you are tired of this kind of political correctness, please consider the PCA.
I was in the PC-USA years ago and glad I made the steps back to Christ Alone, Scripture Alone, Faith Alone. These are the foundations of Presbyterianism in the first place and I encourage anyone who wants to get away from Political Correctness in religion to go back to the Scriptures.
A female reverend? No surprise that such a religion would be floundering in its worship choices.
There's the first problem.

Well, first of all, their commonality is that both the Celts and Native Americans were pagan. Also, there is an "ancient spiritual practice" called 'repentance' and 'faith in Jesus Christ' that really works better than anything else today.

Don't forget what's-his-name (Bill Melnyk), the Episcopal priest who in 2005 was found to also be a practicing druid. It was discussed at length on FR at the time.
I believe 2 Timothy 2:14-17, and 2 Timothy 3:1-5 apply.
I hate to tell her, but a lot of Native Americans are Catholic or Episcopalians. But I doubt she’s interested in that item, any more than my son’s English teacher, who lauded the “new age” spirituality of Black Elk’s famous biography, wanted to know that Black Elk was a convert to Catholicism because it expanded his love and knowledge of the God he was seeking in tradition.
