“Child sexual abuse, a worldwide epidemic”

Nooooooooooooooooo? Really?

That is why those places are called third world countries.

And unfortunately as long as there is poverty and lots of parent-less kids, dont expect the predators to stop.

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3Without natural affection, truce breakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4Traitors, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
(2 Timothy 3 1-4)

See THIS and the following chapter for the details to show that the relatively better conditions of the 19th and 20th century West are but a bump in the road of what has been the world standard from time immemorial. Look at other chapters about pre-WWII Germany and Austria. You don't have to subscribe to the guy's theories to appreciate the historical and anthropological details.

Not sexual abuse but religion is being practice by all and the world’s leaders are involved or know it is going on and do nothing but mask it till they feel the time is acceptable to pull off the covers. These demonic acts against children are part of their satanic religion. Freedom of religion being twisted to allow this. Blood drinking, human sacrifices, etc it all continues to show it’s ugly head. The practitioners of this old world religion dressed like sheep, taunting Christians that persecution is coming - they being the ones themselves lusting and salivating for it.

Title should say still a world wide problem.

In the forties, fifties, and sixties Americans wanted to believe the US was a relatively safe place.

Sure, hundreds of thousands of kids “left home.” They were called “runaways”. People figured they'd be back, and some did come home.

Others did not come home, they turned up in brothels or with street pimps...in a life that was for them...just like home.

Thousands and thousands of others were simply gone. Many show up today only we don't call them “runaways” anymore. Now we call them “unsolved mysteries” and “cold case files.”

People quit expecting missing children to show up again alive. We are a bit more aware and a lot more realistic now.

The author does address that it is a problem in the U.S. too:

Human trafficking isn't just a problem in the crowded streets of Bangkok or the war-torn nations of Africa. It's happening within your city. Christianity Today reported that anywhere between 100,000 and 300,000 American children are trafficked and exploited each year.

Each year, that is truly an astounding number.

Jesus said that “Many will come in my name, but only a few will attain Heaven.”

Translated, the great bulk of humanity has either been scum or ok, but not exceptional people. True saints are not very easy to come by.

You have a good point that the Western world in the second half of the 20th century was a unique time that we may never see again. For most of history, people have lived under grinding poverty and repression.

Go to an African country or something like that. They’re closer to the norm of human existence (ie. short, nasty, brutish lives marked by war, disease, and famine) than the United States of >1945.

The most probable pedophiles in order are:

Fathers
Teachers
Coaches
Protestant ministers

Priests are way down on the list.

So if a father is a teacher of mid-high history, coaches the girl’s basketball team and is a youth minister at his church on weekends/Sundays — watch out! He would be much more prone to pedophilia that any priest.
