There is extensive evidence from physics for a beginning and fine-tuning of the universe. When the complementary nature of these insights is seen, it provides compelling evidence for a transcendent, intelligent Creator.
Cosmic Origins features eight world-class physicists talking about modern physics and God. They include Nobel Laureate Arno Penzias (who discovered the background radiation from the Big Bang); Templeton Prize winners John Polkinghorne (Cambridge) and Michael Heller (Vatican Observatory); Owen Gingerich (Harvard); Lisa Randall (Harvard); Jennifer Wiseman (NASA); and narrated by Stephen Barr (University of Delaware).
BTW, the fine-tuning discussed in the documentary and in Fr. Robert Spitzer's book (New Proofs for the Existence of God) has to do with the values of the universal constants (strength of gravity, strong force, weak force, etc) and other initial physical parameters that permit a universe compatible with carbon-based life - it does not have to do with evolution.
Our 'created' lives last approximately 70 years. The human race will be lucky to last another 1,000 years on this planet let alone another 10,000 or 1,000,000.
What's the point of bothering to create human life? We will never know the 'Creator' and our only hope is some utopian life-after-death scenario. But for what? To have your 'soul' lingering in space or some metaphysical existence for eternity? Why bother? What's the point?
Bump for later reading.
wish we had a “Like” button on FR!
So, should we give up? Is that your point? I believe in a Creator. I believe in a Savior. I believe life and the universe had a beginning. I believe what we see and live in now is NOT what God had in mind when He created this. It will be redone. We will measure up to His standard or perish. We are incapable of fully knowing God but that is not to say we should not try our utmost to try to understand Him.
Excellent video. What is the website for your organization?
You should learn more about Biblical Christianity, and consider the claims of Jesus. Did he rise from the dead?

What people 'believe' is irrelevant to reality. Plenty of evidence points to a very young earth, verified by actual testing - despite the howls of ignorance from many 'scientists.'
Real (and honest) scientists that don't swallow the swill taught today have many ways to challenge the assumption of the earth and the universe being 'billions of years' old.
There are two sites - one is http://www.magisreasonfaith.org
and the other is on facebook https://www.facebook.com/MagisReasonFaith
As Einstein once said “Time is relative”. Can the earth/universe be old (think billions of years) and young (thousands of years) at the same time depending on perspective? The idea of multiple universes is catching on as well. If time is a separate dimension then our concept of time is probably not equipped to answer fully questions we have about the age of the universe.
If the universe was unintelligent (however you may define that), how would one know?
Thank you. Father Spitzer has a new student.

Yes, and based on no empirical evidence at all. What it really is is an effort by anti-theists to make the monkeys/typewriters argument in the field of cosmology. Unfortunately for them, it fails on Occam’s Razor and on a complete lack of evidence.
I’m not a fan of multiple universes but am intrigued by multiple dimensions. It expands the discussion of how God did what He did. And continues to do. The description of Heaven in Revelation indicates time will cease to be measured. There will be no need for it. You’ll never be late again.
save for later
