Actually it’s according to the Bible. Read Romans Chapter 9.
Here’s an excerpt:
Has the potter no right over the clay, to make out of the same lump one object for special use and another for ordinary use? What if God, desiring to show his wrath and to make known his power, has endured with much patience the objects of wrath that are made for destruction; and what if he has done so in order to make known the riches of his glory for the objects of mercy, which he has prepared beforehand for glory (Rom 9:21-23).
Essentially God is showing two parts of His divine character:
1. His grace
2. His wrath
Some are made simply to be an instrument of his wrath, while some are instruments of his grace and mercy. It’s a VERY HARD truth to grasp for most Christians.
Romans 9-11 discusses TRIBES, and deals with the problem of the Jews. It does not discuss individuals, who are still presented as having a choice.
