Gerard Butler receives death threats over new movie

Hollywood star Gerard Butler increased his security team at the Toronto Film Festival over the weekend after receiving death threats.
The "300" star has been promoting his role in controversial movie "Machine Gun Preacher," a true-life story based on a Hells Angel who rescues orphans in Muslim-dominant Sudan after converting to Christianity.

Have they they ever attacked or threatened the guy who is actually DOING the rescuing, or did they wait to pick on an actor who played a part in a movie?

Might not be just Muslims making the threats in this case. From what I’ve read, the group Sam Childers (i.e. the real life guy this movie is based on) has had the most conflict with is a group calling itself the “Lord’s Resistance Army.” From what I gather, the LRA is equal parts terrorist organization and nutcult perversion of Christianity, somewhat in the vein of Jim Jones.

Since the article failed to mention the source of the threat, if I was Butler I'd be very cautious of bald men wearing red and yellow robes. You just never know when you might be face to face with those jet hijacking, radical, militant Krishnas.

Apparently the Lord’s Resistance Army kidnaps children and makes them slaves, either as soldiers or sex slaves. Childers leads armed raids into their territory to rescue these kids. I’d say it’s the LRA making the threats. The LRA is apparently a “christian” group ala Jim Jones only they have guns.
