As with many possible candidates, Perry has plusses and minuses.
He has had to make deals with the devil in his tenure as Governor, as has every governor including Reagan when he was Governor of California.
The litmus test for the Conservative candidate for POTUS seems to be so high (yes, I mixed metaphors there) that NO ONE can meet it — my guy Mr. Cain, Gov. Palin, Ms. Bachmann, Gov. Perry, and others...
So if we have no perfect candidates must we just destroy all who do not meet the 100% test?
barry the zero is polling as low as any POTUS since Grant — will we let our purity requirement let him do twice the damage for another 4 years??
(note: I do not endorse the bizarre and inexplicable Romney - that guy is just out there in nana/rino land)
Yup, every candidate or potential candidate has liabilities. Every one.
The old Buckley rule was to support the most conservative, most electable candidate possible.
That may be Perry.
Second, I do not trust Perry on social issues. His pandering to the Texas Succession movement was so blatant as to be comical.
Third, IMHO the country will not elect another Texan for sometime to come.
